Austin Clawson i think i figured it’s out, i took the chords and added extra notes that add some amazing dissonance, and it instantly upgraded the track by so much (i am also a producer lol)
Austin Clawson oh and add shit tons of ambient sounds in the background and drench literally everything in reverb but automate it so it dips when the heavy chords and bass stop playing. it seriously sounds so fucking amazing. make everything as thick as possible, on a melodic dubstep track i did but never finished, i added literally 19 chord layers and 9 ambience layers but it still could’ve used more ambience and reverb lol. mixing is absolutely key when working with that many layers tho, took me a fat minute to finish the drop, but then i got new headphones and it didn’t sound good on my new better ones so i’m probably just gonna start new ideas now lol.
