KazakhToon Precisely what I was thinking... that tuned down extended bass lead would've been plenty, but then there's the winding psychedelic spacyness and the sick layered guitars...and the way Dean's eyes are just... seeing everything, man... Sooo great
Man, the self-titled album is so freaking underrated, and this is the best version of this particular song. Tied with Era Vulgaris (which is also underrated), the self-titled album is my favorite album of the band.
It's my 2nd favorite after Like Clockwork. Unpopular opinion i know, but damn if i had just 2 albums to listen to for the rest of my life, it would be those two
Juraj Berthier rock in rio man, 4 min intro, 10 min outro, brazillian breakdancers and percussion band, nick olivieri getting arrested right after because he was naked , the list goes on, definetly this is also a beyond amazing version of the song, but nothing will beat rock in rio's imo.
This was so good - heard audio, didn't believe live until this vid. Everyone is trippin. Wish I had been there. The band's endurance and precision during this performance is super - human

4:40 Michael legit just vanished. And I also like that throughout the song, Michael shakes his head and Joey nods his head like they’re disagreeing over something lol 4:56
Without a doubt the best fucking QOTSA song still to this day! The raw emotion you feel from this song even more so from the album version, this shit is so good! I still remember being 10 years old hearing No one knows and getting all the money i could get to buy all QOTSA albums and it was impossible to find this cd the self titled album, couldnt find it for another 15 years till they remastered this. so glad we can now just search it up and boom here it is especially for the Desert Session albums.
Agreed... Qotsa just dont have that drug buzz about them anymore. Always love them . But sometimes dope is an important member of a band . provides thar certain spark
That mind-bending jam and outro sounds a bit like they're making love to my ears through music. Gotta love the dude with the shakers just standing there grooving while the rest of the band plays at the very edge of their capabilities.
will forever love that bass intro.
YES

@Andre Lucca ahhh yes capoeira, i actually know what they're called, i didnt 4 years ago apperiently :D
i find the dusseldorf 2000 version superior
Dean looks like he's seen things, man
he was, no doubt kkk

Dean kind of just always has that look
