Tuomas is one of the greatest composers of our time. People generally don't think of the keyboardist from a metal-type band when considering great composers, but when you listen to some of these covers, it shows you just how great these songs really, truly are. Simply magical.

Beautiful. With no disrespect to the performers you don’t expect a keyboard player from a metal band to produce work like this. Mr Holopainen is a once in a generation composer and lyricist.
You have to understand his influences and what he's trying to achieve through his music, plus the perspective of his band mates. Slayer were inspired by The Doors and Merciful Fate and look what that spawned?
Nightwish music is amazing as covered also like this.
Tuomas should see this if he hasn't already.

While insant pop celebrities' one hit wonders are played non-stop in all the radio stations, Tuomas' masterpieces are still more or less considered to be underground.
