I was at this series and it was everything you could’ve asked for. The guys were so nice, I got to hang out with Sean Flynn and Gus, if you live anywhere near Brighton, please check this out. It’s wiffleball heaven.
Amazing what happens when Knorp has a little help. I think playing Flood for Schema would have been smart at some point. Flood has skills, he just needs experience. Congrats to Jonah for the bat finally coming alive. If Knorp does indeed play Flood for Schema in the last slate and playoffs, anything can happen. Fantastic entertainment, Kyle.
D-Backs fan here (spoilers below) WE WON A SERIES!!!!! THE FACT THAT THIS IS THE FIRST OF THE YEAR IS UNACCEPTABLE BUT I AM PRETTY DAMN HYPED RIGHT NOW!!!!! Eagles played great, though. Well deserving of the first spot. GAME 1 Pitchers duel. Right until the end. Inning 3 was looking like a classic Diamondback choke, seeing as the Eagles went on a 2 out rally (and we had them down to their last strike). But SOMEHOW Jonah Heath happened. I said we needed a miracle going into the last inning, and we got one. GAME 2 You know how I used the phrase "classic Diamondback choke?" Well, here it was. D-Backs kept up the momentum, finding Dirty Dan's knuckle drop, but of course, four outs away from victory... Grand Slam. Dan did his thing and capped off another choke. GAME 3 Great Game. When Blade homered, I thought it was done. I thought the Eagles were gonna win, Allen was gonna shut us down like he was supposed to. Then Jonah Heath. Again. Going into the third/extras, I was surprised at how well Knorp was pitching. But Allen kept doing his thing. Until the 4th. We had the bases loaded with no outs, and for the first time in a while, I was confident we wouldn't choke. And we didn't. Despite the foul ball, we somehow had a walk-off walk go our way (All Star game, anybody?) CLOSING THOUGHTS JIMMY KNORP - He found his groove. He has vastly improved his pitching, and, despite his hitting not being as the level we know it can be at, it wasn't bad at all. JONAH HEATH - He hardcore carried today. He was the only one able to find Dallas Allen, and find him he did. His pitching also showed potential. Despite his 2nd inning struggles, his first inning was very solid. MICHAEL SCHEMA - Absolutely horrible. Unacceptable performance. Disappointing to see from my favorite player. I actually started calling him "automatic out" by the end of this. I don't doubt that Heath and Knorp would have done better if Schema wasn't in the lineup. It pains me to say this, but I think dealing him away might be the best option. OVERALL - I think we are ready for the playoffs. Heath is back. I just hope we make it.
This series was So Good. Jimmy Knorp is just always making things happen, and Jonah Heath was a monster at the plate today. Finally a team got smart to Allen's drop ball. Super adjustment by Allen though, to go to his other pitches at big moments. Allen impressed me today. I thought he was a one pitch pitcher, but he definitely can get big outs with other offerings. Just excellent stuff from everyone today. Loved it. The MLB needs to take a lesson from the MLW. Showing the frame of film that proves the call is such a great idea. It ends all questions and squashes doubt. Great job.

The defense was incredible, the pitching from Knorp and Allen was always impressive, and the bats were electric when they needed to be. Excellent performances all around. Also loved that quick shot of the kid clapping after Knorp’s lights-out inning of pitching.
Pro-tip - the post-game interviews are always an excellent time to take a minute to appreciate the MLW goodness, exhale, and hit the like button. Phenomenal series, i still like the Eagles overall but also glad the D-Backs are back in it. Two awesome teams for the league.
They're baaaack! Very encouraging signs for the DBacks today. Heith and Knorp swung it very well, especially Heith, obviously. Knorp was back to ace status on the mound. He looked excellent. And defensively, the DBacks continued to look like the league's best. That first game's walk off in particular was crazy. Broke Allen's 18.2 inning shutout streak in the most dramatic way possible.
that Heath walk-off is the play of the season. with how well Allen has been pitching and with the Eagles incredible run prevention, it's insane that a walk-off homer gave a win to an out-of-form D-backs side. incredible stuff.
Dude I gotta ask: Kyle said in the last series when he was mic’d up that he was usually editing every Saturday… The freaking quality gets better and better. Who does the editing for these? This series is like the pinnacle of the MLW channel. Absolute perfection.

Schemas defense is elite. He’s such a big part of their chemistry on defense.

Inning 3 was looking like a classic Diamondback choke, seeing as the Eagles went on a 2 out rally (and we had them down to their last strike).
