Out of 78 artists, 60 artists weren't born when Let 3 (Croatia) was founded in 1987. 😮
I'll admit, hearing that 75% of the artists are 35 or younger isn't too crazy to think about, but to know that Let 3 the *band* has been around longer than them all is pretty wild.
@@daffyhat they were active even before, in another bands. Mrle (the bassist) was also a bassist in a punk band called Termiti (Termites). Their most famous song was "Vjeran pas". You should listen to it, if you want.

People don't realize that this song in original form is older than entire Eurovision!!! It's from Croatian opera with the same name from 1935!! And even their version is 18 years old 😂 they were so ahead of their time for croatian music, that's why we love them!!!! LET 3 FOR THE WIN!!!!! ŠČ 🤟🤟🤟🤟
Technically "Ero S Onoga Svijeta" comes/inspired from an earlier Serbian tale of the same name that was part of the "Šaljive narodne priče" compilation of folk tales compiled by Vuk Stefanović Karadžić at the beginning of the 19th century. If Croatians had an opera in the 1935, its because they were part of Kingdom of Yugoslavia and used the song as a basis for their opera, done by Jakov Gotovac and Milan Begović. One of the many examples of Serbian and Croatian cultural intermixing that was all too common in the 19th and 20th centuries, especially in both Yugoslavias.
@@Bionickpunk Ero S Onoga Svijeta is inspired by the whole South Slavic world, not just some Serbian tales, saying that is taking away from this masterpiece.
@@kristijanEX Why would you be ashamed of having inspirations from Serbian folk tales just because its a Croatian opera? The notion that its "taking away from" anything is some bullshit ultra nationalistic rethoric. Also there is clear proof of the Opera taking inspirations from that tale mentioned in various sources, no freaking shame in admitting it. The Opera is one of the most popular ones in both Yugoslavias, both in Croatia and Serbia.

Those who never saw LET 3 live don’t know what top class rock performances are. After 2-3 hours of music you leave the concert full of endorphines and happiness
Even though they come across as campy at first.... That band is tight. Those are excellent musicians. The bassist is on point
What's bad about camp? That's what makes Eurovision fun. Stopped watching it because it became too serious. Will watch again thanks to these guys.

@@pixiestyx1766 I mean, there isn't much philosophy to the word, I guess we're talking about the same thing. From the logic of your sentence it sounded like "they're a tight band despite seeming campy at first sight". But I didn't mean it aggressively, just pointing out that the camp is inherent to their whole band and it doesn't subtract from the quality of the music.
They are camp though! And proud of it..
But the way you stated it, it came off as you thought it was a bad thing, which I do not think you meant!
They have been active in one way or another since the 80s, playing punk abd punk rock...they are tight as hell live. This particular sobg is actually a Croatian opera, probably why they chose it as another song.
I'm so happy that Europe (and the rest of the world) is finally discovering Let 3! It's a great band, all of them are great musicians and performers and I love their concerts and music! They sound fu*king incredible live! Aaand after few years I'll hear them live again in few weeks, just after the Eurovision! 🤘🏼🚀🚜❤️

First i heard them live was 2001, day before my trip to army. Since then they are one of best live bands for me even though i've been on some great gigs (Iron Maiden, Massive Attack, Marilyn Manson...).The sound, producing and rockin is nearly same as on studio recordings. I remember i couldn't belive how great they are live when i heard them first. Don't believe they'll win and i don't care, but i'm so glad they breaked Balkan borders and much more people know for them now. They deserved it.
Let 3 is such a gem. We don't deserve them, but I am glad they accepted playing at the Eurovision. Such a good performance, such a good band.

@@anw2792 Their first 2 albums are definitely my favourites - I love “sam u vodi” and “u rupi od smole” the most tbh and of course “vjeran pas” which is a cover of the song by the band termiti (the bassist of let 3 used to be in termiti back in the late 70’s and early 80s btw)

I remember when I was a teenager and used to live in Germany we had our croatian community and would dance to the foklore version of it ofc in traditional cloths. This was one of my favourite dances next to Linđo :)
Let 3's rendition is awesome too. I mean everyone knows this regardless if you love them or not.

I always found it amusing that you can just write "Щ", because in Polish we use "szcz" to spell this sound - ...so Croatians have 2 letters for that, you have 1, and we have 4. Apparently all Slavs love "ŠČ" so much that it comes in all shapes and sizes xD
