    What a truly awesome sound! Wagner was right about not looking at the trombones, you just encourage them. These guys need no encouragement . Especially the bass trombones. The bass drummer is fantastic. As an American, I wasn’t used to the ear shattering bass drum and now can’t go to sleep without it. And of course a super dm.

      If I may offer a correction, the quote is from Richard Strauss, not Wagner.
      However, I agree with you absolutely. How can one be unimpressed by such military precision and pomp and ceremony?

      A quick point - The loud volume of the base drum is not primarily for the benefit of the band members but more so for the troops that follow.

    Yes you can, just try You Tube 'National Emblem'. (Not as well played and lacking the magnificent Tower Clock background). This American march played by British Guards is one of the best marches ever composed -the great John Philip Sousa said 'I wish I could have produced such beautiful music', praising author E. E. Bagley.

      Thank you. Do you know why it is carried by bandsman and not guardsman?

    • @troopingadmin
      @troopingadmin  8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      +Warm Slipper The guard carrying the cover is a member of the battalion's Corps of Drums and, as such, is an infantry guardsman and not a full time musician.

    Jesus I marched strait down to the loo, and I'm not even military or British for that matter!
    This seriously has to be the coolest stuff to see almost everyday, if not everyday. I'd like to go to the UK, but I hear they are not too fond of Americans.

    • @ianrobertson5798

      Mate as a Londoner born and bred I can categorically state your talking rubbish.
      Americans are my favourite kind of tourists to have visit us here.
      Best wishes from London UK

    • @brassnyuks3849
      @brassnyuks3849 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am happy to hear that. I watched a few videos before that mentioned "do you hate Americans as much as I do?" It's kind of disheartening to hear something like that. Three friends and myself went to Canada (I know completely different territory) and man they were not too polite to us. One guy in the elevator at our hotel asked how our stay was, and we made mention of some rude people. He said, they just need to pull their heads out of their arse! It was great. I still hope to someday visit the UK. I love culture and tradition. Thank you for the kind words.

      Alas we like you have our fair share of idiots who hate on anyone and everything so its best to just let them vent and then they can go back to their mind numbing small minded games on the phone or internet. I can assure you a great time if you do decide to pop over CHEERS.
