I think the idea, in world, is that light burns the killers and the "face" is simply a weak point. Explains why Demo and Wesker are "blinded" by the light; they're being hit where they hurt. Pyramidhead makes less sense but we know he's got a tongue/flesh in there so maybe there's some sort of face to burn?

Chucky plummeting to the ground after being dropped is pretty funny, and it's neat seeing him drag the knife back before standing up. Singularity by far has the scariest recovery. The zip back is very intimidating
I love some unique touches, like Sadako is having a panic attack, trickster fixing his hair and dredge seems like trying to make the light go away. Neat stuf
It's nice to be able to see the animations. In gameplay you don't get to see them often if your playing as the killer or when you're too focused on trying to escape from the killer as survivor.
I feel like pyramid head and demogorgan should be immune to it on account of having no eyes and Wesker should take half as long to get back due to sunglasses

The entity is watching from the killers poverty (like us when we play) and the entities extremely sensitive to light so it passes this weakness on to the killers, and more so for the dredge as its a shadow monster it's biggest weakness was light already so the entity just compounds that weakness
