Thanks for great review! Also thanks for adding to essentials checklist section with Panel bit depth, it is very important to receive a correct information from a manufacturer because i'm affected by FRC tech. I would also ask you to mark in checklist as failed if manufacturer didn't mention about FRC. Thank you very much for your hard work.
Thanks for the review. Someone went around saying they switched to a different panel for this one in some places and there's no coverage on it. I did however confirm with Asus that the Asus XG27ACS since you reviewed it also uses innolux panels, no idea what percentage, if it's replacing the BOE panels or if it's particular countries, but it was Asus USA. I was originally looking for info on the new XG27ACG which has the same shell as the ACS but is an "AUO" panel. I've gone back to recommending the G2724D here in Aus as it looks like we still stock AUO for it at the least.
What about U series? They renewed it with more eye care technologies, IPS black(2000:1 contrast ratio) and 120 Hz refresh rate for 27, 34 and 40 inches. Can you review Dell U2724DE, U3425WE and U4025QW? And not just for gaming but productivity and are they truly much better for eye health if you need to work 8-10 hours in front of it?
I have this monitor, bought it 9 months ago. Same issues, reddish/ yellowish tint, around 1000:1 contrast ratio. Fixed by fiddling with the colours in custom mode and changing the max and min brightness settings in the service menu. For some reason max was set to 198 and min to 123 if I recall correctly. I don't have solid evidence that my monitor has a different panel but maybe Dell uses different EU settings in compliance with some energy regulations.
With Black Friday coming I’m very much considering buying this in hopefully a nice discount. Though in case it doesn’t get discounted: would you say it’s still worth it at €235? Everything here is just (quite) a bit more expensive here in Europe than in the US. For context: - AOC Q27G3XMN: sits at €355 at the time of writing. Have seen it come down to €320 (shame it’s so expensive here I really like the idea of true HDR). - MSI G274QPF QD: not available in my country. - MSI G272QPF E2: sits at a very stable €180. Though I’m very unsure how it compares to the Dell G2724D. - Gigabyte M27QA: sits at €260 currently. - Gigabyte M27Q: sits at €223. Lastly: I don’t really care about high refresh rates. I’d always prefer picture quality (colours, contrast, etc)
I got the Dell G2724D last week. It's PERFECT for the PS5 using Console Mode. The Adaptive Sync is flawless! However, you'll need an Ultra Fast HDMI cable ($16), as the original PS5 HDMI cable didn't work for VRR at 1440p. Forget about 4K, 1440p will be the sweet spot for years to come. Assembly is easy peasy. It looks awesome! I paid only CAD $229. Totally RECOMMEND it. 👍
In my country the MSI MAG274QRF-QD is cheaper than this one by 20% or more, depending on where you get it from. I think that one easily is the best 1440p monitor one can buy given its price now.
The specs aren't as refined as the Dell, it uses an AUO panel predominantly. The higher contrast with good calibration out of box with still good response times (look specifically at the slow common outlier response transitions too)
I currently have the ASUS PG32UCDM 4K QD OLED as my main monitor and its brilliant. I decided to purchase the Dell G2724D as my secondary monitor and suffice to say I am very impressed!
There's also the KOORUI GN07, 27E1QA, and 27E3Q. I have the GN07 and my only issues with it is ghosting on faster response times and wobble on the provided VESA stand. Beyond, I think it's awesome.

Hi, I’d been watching some of your monitor reviews and I like that you do a thorough job describing all the characteristics and you never forget about the minimum brightness, which is a very important aspect for me, because I prefer monitors to be rather dimmer because I watch video content in a darker room, whether it is a monitor or a TV. Now I have a specific question, I hope you can help me out with this one. If in the specs of an OLED it reads - “Quantum Dot Color- Yes” does it mean that it is a QD-OLED? My question is related to an European model -LS27DG602SUXEN (Samsung Odyssey G6). So “Quantum dot color -Yes” means QD-OLED for sure?

I'm literally in the same position, though I also have couple other options. All I want is great response times with good colors. Or as good as IPS can get.
I bought the Dell and a HP27q which supposedly has the same or similar lg panel, the dell has worse contrast a bit somehow even though it shouldn't based on reviews, reds look orange on the dell compared...hp has better response time and compliance too, unfortunately both have pretty bad ips glow
@Monitors Unboxed - did your sample have backlight bleed or IPS glow? I have this monitor and that is my only complaint. It should have much more than it has, on my example at least.
Lg are doing a similar thing with there monitors now putting older panels in new shiny cases and selling them off as new and improved… I was an ultragear fan boy and they definitely still make some of the best monitors out there but this shady repackaging of older panels needs to be pointed out to the consumer more so they understand exactly what there getting. Even some of there new bigger ultragear OLED models where old C1 OLEDs put into a new case and sold as new gaming panels.

I just moved to China and bought one from the MSI official store on Taobao here for 1100CNY ($155). Seems excellent to this layperson. I have absolutely no idea how it's this cheap 🤷
As another lay person, I think the reduction in price may be due to the shipping cost being much cheaper, as well as not having to pay extra taxes or custom fees etc.

The way DELL treats its consumers by changing the panels in the 2724D like gloves is unacceptable.

Do you have solid evidence of the G2724D suffering from panel swaps? By solid evidence I'm referring to panel SKUs, service menu images, etc. A regular consumer in RTINGs comments saying "My panel measured 800:1" with no evidence backing up their claim is NOT solid evidence
You're recommending this over XG27ACS?
@@bassyey yes va sucks
@@hungry_khid1007 XG27ACS has IPS. This channel reviewed it.
How certain are you Australia has the good panels for the g2724d?
What values you have now for max and sub brightness in service menu?
Just got this monitor, would love to know how you got yours tweaked!
Can you share your settings? And do you have kind of greyish tint on white colour?
With Black Friday coming I’m very much considering buying this in hopefully a nice discount. Though in case it doesn’t get discounted: would you say it’s still worth it at €235? Everything here is just (quite) a bit more expensive here in Europe than in the US. For context:
- AOC Q27G3XMN: sits at €355 at the time of writing.

Why every Dell G2724D video has this comment......lol
In my country the MSI MAG274QRF-QD is cheaper than this one by 20% or more, depending on where you get it from. I think that one easily is the best 1440p monitor one can buy given its price now.
The specs aren't as refined as the Dell, it uses an AUO panel predominantly. The higher contrast with good calibration out of box with still good response times (look specifically at the slow common outlier response transitions too)

Thanks for the review. When are you guys making a video about the AOC Q27G4F - 27" 1440p 180hz IPS ? ❤
I purchased the monitor for $150 recently. It has such good colors and there is virtually no motion blur nor black smearing in game. I will be keeping this monitor (I have returned others for bad performance.)
I bought one of these for my wife for gaming and work (mostly presentations and word processing). She absolutely loves it and I have to say that it really blows any IPS monitor we have had out of the water. It has replaced an Asus PG278Q that was around 10 years old, I never thought I would see an IPS monitor challenge these "super fast" TN monitors of old with response times.
the g3223q has been available variously for 550-600 aud, almost half the price of the competitor gaming brand models, would be cool if you looked at that
I have not seen any review of LG 27GR75Q please review this model and do a comparison with Gigabyte M27Q rev 2🙏🙏

can you do a video about the a good second/third monitor? most ppl here have a multi-monitor setup, and these videos help a lot in choosing your main monitor (expensive but high quality) but what monitors do u recommend for a 3 monitor setup? Hello Tim,
Why no UFO test? I know there is no MBR option in the menu, but the test shows what we can expect in the end in comparison to other monitors. Or to see how well the blur is handeled even without a dedicated mbr functionality. I watch your videos primarily becaise of the UFO test : )
