Am I crazy or does this sound kind of boxy compared to eg the Saramonic and AT, which are considerably cheaper? I get that the extra features might make the Joby better for some users but better sound and lower price is a compelling argument I think.
I like the sound of the Saramonic out of the box and every XLR mic more than the Joby. I like that the EQ can be changed and left that way in the JOBY though. Being able to do that makes it more versatile for each person's voice. Kind of makes it so it's at least on par with the Saramonic, if not better (once EQ'd)... but it's cool the saramonic is so solid at a lesser price. Buying an interface with the AT875R is better for the money than the Joby IMO... unless someone NEEDS the 3.5mm on camera usage. You're right though buying the Saramonic for less is definitely appealing... it is a gigantic mic, and that might turn some people off if they are using it on top of their mic, but to me, it's not that BIG of a deal 😜. Saramonic dropping that down to $200 is awesome. Thanks for always being amazing and commenting!
Good video. At first look I thought you had started weapon testing for the Klingons or Nasa. If the app goes though. Mic is bricked. I do not like app dependent things.
