Hey Nate....Cool video...I love Steak & Shake.....great food for a very fair price and clean with good service....hope they re-open....we only have one where I live. Thanks .👍
Hi Self Proclaimed Business Expert here, That 50% of Profits doesn't cover your operating costs. such as food employees electricity hell I'm not even sure if it covers the lease owned by Steak & Shake LLC? so after all that the owner should be making 5-10 cents on the dollar not bad if it makes $3000 a day but that's unlikely.
Ok this is a ruff estimate but for it being open 12 hours a day I have $432 in employees 3 per 6 hours shifts making $8 an hour and two managers making $12, $200 food costs $60 electricity and water and gas. in the colder months add $10 to that so it would have to make $1400 a day to break even.
scott sheffield we have one up the street like two streets over from this streak and shake. and now we have another one coming on pearl. We have two of pretty much every fast food place....why? No idea lol.
This company has been around for a long time, I think since the 50's. I've been to ours in Lubbock for a few years, always busy but the prices are very good too.
There are several of the Steak n' Shake locations in that condition where I live in Louisville KY. Luckilly the one nearest to me is still open. My understanding is that they will only reopen if someone invests 10K for a franchise.
I don't know what is going on with the company, but they have been closing allot of stores lately. Some have never re-opened after being designated a franchise
To the person who made this video, I am truly sorry for not being able to provide you with a milkshake, I mean this, not being sarcastic. SNS IS and will ALWAYS be a great American brand. But enough complains and belly up. That's what entitlement gets YOU, a positive consumer, because of bad, almost everyone else complaining to corporate that it was an awful service because we forgot pickles in their burger (to get another free burger even though it is not true)
It makes you wonder if this is a high profit location or profitable at all, I think if it was Stake and Shake would not have closed it, a good investor would see a red flag here.
It would have been much better if you could have gotten inside, I've been inside many abandoned buildings and it's amazing what you can find inside places like these =)
I'll say this. As a former SNS ex employee. People literally drove the place down to its bare minimum. People really show their true colors towards employees. Over. And over. And over. And...may I say, OVER. YOU TREATED us like we were shit. People randomly didn't want to show up to work. And when those employees didn't show up because they either quit from your lack of humanity, us employees who did because we had family to feed, you still, STILL, gave us shitty tips because we were not fast enough? Sometimes there was a cook, sandwich maker AND. Drive thru employee (manager) doing all that with only 1 server being a cashier, SERVER, and milkshake master. And there would still be people complaining. Now don't get me wrong, I get that you don't live our world as hard working individuals with impossible standards against impossible odds, but do please, check your attitude once you walk through those doors. Understand that there are some of us human beings....like you...who are trying to make the best out of, dare I say it again, and IMPOSSIBLE-ASS-SITUATION. I couldn't control whether my co workers were going to be there or not. Golden rule applied...DONT BE A DICK. Anyways, thank you if you read my rant up to this point. BTW, PS, stop complaining and actually call to give positive vibes! Just a thought that could possibly keep good companies that sell good food for affordable prices but you are too entitled to notice until they are gone. Hearts to all that weren't complete POS

The Steak & Shake reopened in Brunswick yesterday.
That was one of my favorite stake n shakes too
Yes
Most of our Steak and Shakes are closed in St Louis
Awesome video nate
You have a valid point, Nate, why not leave it open until an investor takes over, maybe because it is no longer profitable would be my guess.
This building is larger than the one in Canton.
I really like the style of that brick work on the building.Very nice video Nate!
Have you ever tried the one in Moraine?I have.

@Dusk Raccoon I hear they have a $200 Million Dollar Loan Due in 2021, so yeah its a sinking ship.
