I've watched all your driving tip videos & I just want to say thank you! Your videos helped me a lot! I just got my license today & passed with a 97/100!
I got a 97/100 aswell. I watched all of your videos and they really helped me! The -3 came from me swearing at a pedestrian missing their path to cross, my instructor laughed it off but still gave me a 1 minor fault.
I am a new driver and I had NO IDEA about the break system! THANK YOU FOR THIS and ALL YOUR VIDEOS!!! they have been the best resources I've found to learn to drive safely! God Bless You!
Your videos are so clear and concise! You get straight to the point without a bunch of baloney at the beginning like so many of the other driving channels. THANK YOU! You have helped to make me understand common sense driving.
I just got my license in December and hearing your voice in my head when I drive helps me so much! Your explanations go into a lot of detail that I need but didn't know how to ask about and it doesn't leave the driver to do the guess work
Dear Mr.Carlos... Thank you very much for your Great Tutorials. You have a No-Nonsense, but reassuring way of presentation which must obviously be working wonders with your Students. I found all your videos highly educative. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK... expecting more wonderful videos from you.
I can't believe I am only discovering this channel now! :( This is very helpful. All the things I needed to be answered are in your channel! THANK YOU. You understand the beginner's mind.
Not only a small piece could break when an auto is set to park, the car could roll if its parked on a hill. Sometimes parked cars get hit by bad drivers. If the impact is high enough, the small piece could break, also allowing your car to roll.

Im a student driver in UAE I have problems controlling my steering esp going from a U turn to a 2 or 3 lanes I find it very hard to release the steering and accelerating to put a straight position.. (steering/car) to the lane I am taking.. I ended wobbling to left lane or to the curb on the right......Anyway I took a lot of your driving tips with me..Thanks.. Sharon
+s mariano Probably because you're scared to let go of the wheel completely. That's what happens with most students. They're afraid the wheel won't return completely, so they hang on to it, and what happens is even worst. Also vision is very important here. Look where you want to go, not in front of you. Turn your head.
+Conduite Facile you are right ( : Im scared haha...also I think Im hurrying up and dont know what to do next to control the steer coz im afraid of the car on the rear and i dont know how to control the steer right after i turned.. a bit off but, got my license but scared to drive alone, how to overcome that fear? I drive well with anyone else in car like Ive done it for years but scared to go alone...
A question that might seem stupid. How can i tell better where i am? I cant see if the car will crash in to the wall or not, and i seem to have trouble keeping the car straight.
thank you for very helpful videos when parking I release brake pedal after using hand brake finally when the car is completely stopped I switch to parking ' what do you think????!!!
How do i know if my car can fit through between 2 objects? i'm always afraid of clashing with the sides , im bad at predicting if the right or left side of my car and fit into them
I was taught to change the gear to park before pulling the hand-break when parking. However, you said hand-break before putting the gear to park. Would you please clarify this?
@@ConduiteFacile Thanks much for the reply. I passed my drive test on first attempt, your videos helped me a lot. +Conduite Facile is it ok 2 put 2 1st then pull up the hand brake or follow yr way n will followig yr way damage the brakes or the handbrake? Thx n hv a great week
When you're about to drive off, what is the order to releasing the parking brake (for automatic cars)? Press brake pedal, start car, shift to P, then release the parking brake???
Been struggling with the correct order to follow when starting the car in terms of brake pedal, handbrake and shifting from P to D/R. Please let me know.
It's recommended to always put it,even on a flat surface. Unless you leave it parked for a long time (one month in your garage for example). In that case, the brake might get stuck.
Yes. If you car gets hit the sudden impact can snap the parking paw in the transmission and without the parking brake it could roll into traffic or a bystander.
I hold the brake, put on my e brake, and park but my car still rolls (usually forward) sometimes. how serious of a problem can this lead to and what else can I do? and I letting go of the pedal break too fast? also, great helpful vids!
musiclivelife Look far and wide. Biggest mistake new drivers make is to look too close and too much in front when turning. Distance evaluation comes with experience. It also depends on the size of your car. I'll be uploading a video about vision soon.
Thank you for your reply and I look forward to the vision video! I'm having trouble with turning and changing lanes because I'm afraid I might hit something.. :( Also could you make a video on how to park in a parking lot forward not backwards? You're videos are short and straight foward it's very helpful!
You're right. I misread your comment. Yes, you should to put the handbrake first, so that the wheels are blocked before you put in park. That way, it puts less stress on your parking pawl (that little piece of metal).

MrCesarM XD Simple Answer: *Keep your eyes on the same lane, if you don't do this, the car goes automatically in other direction.
but in some country even if the line is white it's two ways
Yup. Yellow lines are mostly in North America, AFAIK.
Thank you. Love your videos

that metal piece that keeps the car. park is called the parking pawl
It is.
Not to be confused with when Paul is parking. Parking Paul. Sorry. Not very funny, but I just had to do the joke.

How to know you are keeping right distance near car. How much is 1m.

+Yujin J Thank you but is there a trick to help remind me. When I am driving I am not thinking about math. I am estimating using my eyes.
Is it fine to put the gear lever in park before pulling up the handbrake IF you keep the footbrake down? Just wondering.
Yes. Just as long as you use one of the two brakes before putting it in park.
Hi Carlos, what is the procedure to engage the parking brake if I have a pedal type parking brake?
Same thing as with a hand brake.
@@ConduiteFacile Got it, thanks for the reply!
Great video. Can't the newspaper ink bleed onto the window? :)
I've been using that stuff to wipe anything made of glass for years. It's the best. Never had a problem with that.
+Conduite Facile Oh great. Thank you for your time and videos.
wouldnt a microfiber cloth be more suitable?
Don't use a newspaper! Newspapers and paper towels will leave scratches on the windows. A microfiber cloth works best.

Lina Truong Yup. That's the right order. But you shift to "D", not "P". "D" is for "Drive", "P" is for "Parking".

And for manual cars??

Probably your hand brake cable that is loose.
good
Do you engage the handbrake only on a hill? Thanks.
You should always engage it when parking. One of the reasons is, if you never engage it, the cable will get stuck.
Where do i get newspaper?
Does it matter if you apply the handbrake before or after putting the car in park when coming to a stop ?
After you put in park.
If there's a piece of metal that is stopping the gears from moving while in park mode, then why can I start the engine and rev it in that mode?
It doesn't have to do with the engine, it has to do with the transmission.
Just curious what happens if I do BRAKE, GEAR IN PARK, THEN HAND BRAKE? would it destroy that small hook thing?
Maybe not instantly but it could over time, since there's some pressure on it.
How do I know if i am too close to obstacles(cars, people, trash cans etc) when driving?? And how do i know if i'm in the lines?
musiclivelife Look far and wide. Biggest mistake new drivers make is to look too close and too much in front when turning. Distance evaluation comes with experience. It also depends on the size of your car. I'll be uploading a video about vision soon.

At the beginning why not put foot on brake pedal, shift to P, then put on the handbrake, and lastly take your foot off of the brake? When parking.
That's exactly what I'm doing.
