Don't know if anyone has mentioned this already but Hobi's verse was banned on TV for the 'weak, whiny, idiots' part and even though in the live you watched, its subtitled that way, he actually did something ICONIC (as always) and rapped the names of their dogs. Soonshimi (V's dog), Guereumi (Jungkook's dog), Rap moni (Joonie's dog) and Dosoonie (Jimin's dog).

@@DestructiveMediaYTIf I write a very very long explanation about how deep and how socially relevant this song "DOPE" actually is, will you read it?
Cause I swear not even regular ARMY'S could even begin to understand this song. They just think or assume it's just a song that ain't deep cause it's just about bragging and stuff like that.
But I'm 100% sure it's deliberately written in such a way, cause it's what BTS wants the general public to think, otherwise this song or the MV itself will be banned or worse, BTS will be blacklisted by their own government considering how controversial the message behind the song is. 😅
Which is why I greatly admire BTS, cause they're so brave & too bold & smart for their own good. I'm not exaggerating that they're literally risking their careers in this one during that time if the song is exposed or fully understood. Which is why the hints are written in German, and only those who cares know the deeper meaning will understand and not expose them.

6:01 : About the number thing " “Three giving-up generation” is a neologism in South Korea referring to a generation that gives up courtship, marriage, and having kids. Many of the young generation in South Korea have given up those three things because of social pressures and economic problems such as increasing cost-of-living, tuition payments, and affordable housing scarcity. There is also the "opo sedae", or “five giving-up generation”, which takes the same three and adds employment and homeownership." - from DOOLSET

About theirs outfits, they have different jobs, like you saud JK police officer, then Hobi racer, Suga is high officer in navy, Jin doctor, Jimin office worker.
V is detective but he is wearing shorts, and red bowtie, etc, bc he is actually wearing manga/anime character outfit "Detective Conan".
And about RM there were discusions about it bc a lot of people think it is some military but if you look at concept photos for this album it is actually bellboy, bellhops, (I honestly don't know what word is used).
When you think what they are sining about and what is in MV it is wow.
When you think about it they showed a lot of jobs that really need time and a lot of work to out into it, or even money (doctor, racer), or fully live your job (like navy general). Then they also showed jobs that are more generally common and popular (office worker) and job that is public work in a way (police officer), and tyen job rhat is private but also helps (detective), but bc this job look was taked from manga/anime in a way it shows also creative work. And lastly they showed job that no many remeber that exists and don't care even and it isn't really respected (bellboy). Interesting don't you say, it is so simple but speaks so much...
    Think about it.
Not to say MV was made to look like one take, except last part, but it isn't, but it has only 4 cuts, they almost did it one take but when they tried they were to slow to go from one scene to another, do theu hadvto make cuts in some places. But for example RM part when he raps and members are behind him wearing similar clothers it is actually green screen and members filmed this part before and RM is actually alone there, and then he moves to next scene and members are in the same outfits bc they waited from before, they never changed at that moment it was one shot still.

Bryan, welcome to Dope! The bass part just blows my mind. Crank that up when you're out driving; it really rocks! And that poor, poor saxaphone. It sounds like someone is trying to strangle it. And the choreo...you need to see the dance practice. Can you tell, this is one of my favorites. Being BTS, they put out a song that sounds really inspirational, really catchy, can't keep your feet still while listening to it. Yet, it is a very serious song, as others have explained. The only really positive line is that they do really think they're Dope! (So I won't mention that in Korean, dope also can mean the stink of their sweat, because that would eliminate all positives.) 🙂 Have you reacted to all of the Most Beautiful Moment in Life Part 1, 2 and Young Forever Albums yet? That's where Dope came from, so it would be great if you could review those songs you haven't yet. Thanks for reviewing this.

You have just experienced something called Kalgunmu-of BTS...razor-sharp[knife] moves[ group dance], a newly coined Korean word...phrase(?)___dance perfectly in sync. Just saw this two days ago ,thought it was cool so I'm just passing it on. Great to see you, hope all is well 😊💜🫡

I knew you’d love this song. It is so brilliant, everything from the lyrics to the dancing to the MV and performances. They were all fire…. And also we have the menace of red haired Jimin who will always be iconic, followed by orange. It’s no surprise it is always included in their concerts. Great reaction. Thanks

I think that the instrument you mentioned is a sax, not a trumpet.
When Namjoon talks about "samposede" and "oposede" he refers to the so-called third and fifth generation, but the umber is not about their sequence, but the number of life aspects they had to give up to live.
Since I watched this MV I definitely became a proud Army!
And since then, after hearing JK''s acutes, I'm waiting for him to sing rock 🙏🙏

The "number thing" you mentioned had to do with the number of years in which most Kpop groups gave up and disbanded. Three years and five years were typical for many bands. BTS was saying they've lasted and were into their sixth year and successful because of their dedication and hard work. This is a great song with fabulous choreography! Thanks for your reaction. 💜

Apart from what everyone told you, I also wanted to specifically mention this was the time where Jimin used to be so desperate to look like a manly man. I mean as you know how soft and caring he actually is, but at that time his eyes were always determined to show something strong, the typical manly man. Thankfully he overcame that phase ❤
Also Jungkook's "I gotta make it fire baby~" is such an iconic line from him, it's really dope 🔥 If you watch their more recent performance on this song, it's more fire 🤩 because all of them are really seasoned performers there ❤
Thankyou for reacting to BTS 💜

Oh- Wanted to add, Jimin tried that manly man thingy on camera only, like the MVs or stage performances, but he still was very much a cute little thingy in behind-the-scenes, usually termed Bangtan Bombs. So the two things are not to be mixed 😂❤

I love this song so much. The Dope mv was the first time I’d ever seen BTS. I was instantly obsessed with the 7 guys who danced so beautifully & whose rap & lyrics was so intriguing. I stayed up for over 24 hrs, immersing myself in their music & fan created content. That was in 2016. At 70, I’m still as obsessed as ever.

I also always think this is a great example of a complete OT7 track where EVERY member completely shines in their respective part. On some a couple of members may stand out slightly more and on some they all do... this is one of the later.

Hi. Liking your reaction to "Dope" a lot. And the message they send out - is totally cool. For the stage performance, i know you had to block it onscreen - i understand it. They are so so good live and on stage. Another song i would like to recommended to you is "Fire". There is an MV to it, and i promise you that you will also include "Fire" in your playlist! Anyway, let's see what else i have missed from your reactions of BTS. Thank you so much for liking them. See ya soon!

Hi Bryan. Now that youve reacted to Dope you should definetly react to Fire soon 🔥 The Fire MV came after Dope and there is a really interesting contrast between the songs and their meaning, they go really well together. 😉As others have said I love Dope and I love how meaningful the lyrics are, as usual so much more to it than most people assume and see just on the surface. 💜👏

I love this song so much i cosplayed as Jimin from this MV and did the Dope dance at a local comic con near me and i had fun, people were aslo asking me who I was so I explained to then everything about jimin and BTS.
Also i love how Jimin and Jungkook bounced of eachother, with their voices.
Jimin in this MV is why i love a man in uniform, i love Jimins voice and i also love his highnotes aswell but his character is the one i love, this is partly the reason Jimin is my ultimate kpop bias.
This song is totally Dope (see what i did there lol)
