I was testing this out too in a previous run. Scar Strike hits enemies one at a time, left to right. However, enemies will stay alive 0 HP until it's their turn to get hit by Scar Strike. What happened there is the Scar Strike removed the shield from the archer and the shockwave killed it. The shielder was alive a 0 hp and the Scar Strike hit it. The Acher was dead so it didn't shockwave. It's better to be on the left side of the enemies with this build if possible.
It's interesting how the different character's specialties tend to lend themselves to different play-styles. Though they aren't necessarily build-defining either.
I'm a big fan of this game and especially your videos of it. It's really fun to watch when you're in the zone and making a bunch of quick moves in the rhythm of the game, which is something I am definitely not yet achieving! But you talk through your mistakes and your reasoning in really approachable ways that are helping a lot. Hope to see more Shogun Showdown!
47:15 What you can do here to avoid a heavy spawn causing damage is step into the bomb guy to toss him instead of stepping away. Even if they didn't summon guys, you could throw it back into the other bomb to not take damage from the explosions.
This was so fun to watch!! I think the reason you got “smoked” is because you didn’t have a reliable ranged damage option that could hurt the enemy without them already needing to be hurt (with the scar strike), like a lightning or an arrow might’ve helped I think!

While I agree, I think he didn't care about the colision damage because he put all his damage into scar strike anyway, so it would be redundant (except on bosses etc) or rather the little extra damage wouldn't make a difference / not be worth the money? Perchance.
yeah sniper is 4 tiles away, i dont really care for mixed value upgrades and a lot of maps (including the shogun) sniper is basically impossible to get value out of. same for collision, if an enemy is -1 hp for scar strike they die anyway, just need to hit them once
At 51:34 could have thrown the spearman forward so that when he declared his attack you had space to back up! Only works bc you had upgraded special tho which I find hard to remember.
I think some ranged attack would've been good for this run. Maybe it's always good to have some arrow or lighting in your back pocket to combo into scar strike
You should spend (or at least sell) a health potion if you're not dying because you're wasting the (sell) value of every other potion you find while at max capacity Also shockwave does seem to go through every enemy, but it's after they take damage from the attack, so Scar Strike and other multihits can break the chain
kowa is tricky to fight, but gets more and more like a pushover once uve learnt him, his shield turns dont matter, his only threat is the smoke bomb, if u cant turn him around, always keep yourself between him and a goon, once he intends to start a string, always assume its a smoke bomb, time it so that u can get him either to hit his goon or time it so that his attack is wasted, u wanna do it when his box starts to flash, treat kowa like you treat an archer or a charger that u cant one shot, bait his attack then gtfo, he will give u ample time to hit him when he is moving away from u or by doing his silly shield move
according to some other people in the comments scar strike goes left to right in damage so some enemies dying messed with the shockwave at certain points in the video
we do a little interaction algorithm farm, love the series, keep them coming, do you have no interest in making video/videos of you going through the days on characters?
Mr. Streamer, I'm gonna need an explanation on why you skipped doubling collision damage from 1+1 to 2+2 on the character that chucks enemies around dozens of times per encounter in a variety of different ways. Is that how that perk would've worked or am I misunderstanding something? That's a ton of damage to be leaving on the table if so. It seems like such a no-brainer to make the rest of the run much comfier, even if your build was already decently solid via scar strike. Like no sarcasm here, I'm genuinely unsure why that wasn't picked up.
other than elite enemies scar strike at 4 just kills every damage enemy for me, doesnt really matter if they're at 3 or 2 hp when i scar strike. elites are more inconsistent but 1/4 elites cant even be thrown so i feel like the cases where the +damage on collision would actually do anything is pretty minimal
so is stuff like sai and scar strike already special and you cannot add specials to them? Ir can you double strike sai (quading the damage) or poison scar?
did you fucking skiped free play?? its literally the best upgrade, i dont know if you are aware that it does not count as a enchantment. You can have poison and free play at the same time
the cooldown increase didnt really seem worth it, +3 is a big ask, you can basically get a free turn by having it off cooldown when the enemies spawn in, maybe on one of the other abilities it'd be alright but idk

@@Voyix its true +3 is a lot, but in my experience it was exceptionally good in the last update and it was +4. So now it is even better.
