Very clever man, he realized that the word down payment is a hard red flag and uses " duet start " to avoid the psychological attack

They’re two different terms at the dealership sir. Due at start includes any and all down payments and fees and first payment. Down payment implies just the money you want to put down IN ADDITION to the fees.

I started following you about 4yrs ago which led me to negotiate my very first lease. You helped me greatly got less than 1% in 2020 paying the taxes fees etc. my new Lease was coming up June 8th and it was way different but I found a motivated dealer (same brand) shopped out my old lease for equity trade values and got 10k more than what my buyout was for. Used it as a trade to get into another lease on a 45k car with absolute 0 down 327/month out the door, nothing out of pocket at all. I am more educated on the car process and used that information to do things I never thought i could do. Thanks Ari for all the information you provide. You have saved me thousands

Great info! Thanks Ari. I'm car shopping and have been for about 6mo, it's the toughest market I've seen over the past 40 yrs of buying. It's like having to re-learn the whole process a new way. It's exhausting.

What about money factor???????????! What about the need to estimate mileage as accurate as possible?????? These two things alone can significantly raise or lower your lease payment.

Saving this video for later this year as my current Hyundai lease isn't done until October. Lots of changes could effect the MSRP and money factor in the months to come this year! Great information!!!!!!!!

money factor and residuals vary with zip code and are not uniform across the board.

The problem w Edmunds lease forum is that they will only give u captive money factor and residual - might be better deals out there from other lenders.

Great video..new to leasing so learning a lot. Can the taxes, government fees and others be included in the monthly lease payment? Advertisement of car dealership says "$$$ down is required " - what does this consist of?

My question is how do you know the money factor?? Because every time I go least my car's I know I'm a tier-1.. but everytime I ask them what the money factor is they always give me a 678 10% ... Is it true that they can add on to my money factor with good credit.

Is the tax just on the lease payment or on the cost of the vehicle?

I spec'd out a bmw on the online configurator and the numbers they gave me at the dealership were over $300 /month more than the website calculator.

Ask them if they are marking up the price of the car, the interest rate, or are also including unnecessary accessories into the price, or a combination of all 3.

Can we see what a new Escalade lease could or should look like? I’d like to see you write up a new Escalade…not the extended version. A short model.

3 years ago I got a $226 payment for a $24k car, think I got it for closer to $22k. Now the same guy an dealer is saying for a 2024 model thats also $23k its going to be $400 a month!? I told him that seems ridiculous. it is ridiculous right??? it should be $330 max. seems shady but maybe Im wrong? help. thats 36 month 10k miles.

    Hi Ari,
I’m actively negotiating for a 36 month lease with 12,000 miles per year on a 2023 Genesis GV60 Performance. The MSRP is $69,660. The best lease quote I’ve received so far is $560/mo with $3,000 due at signing or $585/mo with $2,000 due at signing. My credit score is in the mid 700’s. I’m hoping you can advise on whether or not this is a good deal and which deal should I take.

A great lease deal is 1% of msrp or $100 per $10,000 msrp.

All I know is right now the dealers are all starting ridiculously high on their initial "offer" and then acting like martys when they get within range of the real starting point.

Do you think by 2025 lease deals will look better?

I think they’ll look better soon just not going to be like it was before until interest rates drop sharply

Time to shut this down. It has no place with the leasing environment we are currently in.
