*Found this through a TH-cam video **enjoyable.fishing** recommend does exactly what its meant to do. Very durable and no hang-ups at all surprisingly*
Wow these squid really will be dynamite on reefies. I’m wondering could you do a tutorial on the best way to fish pontoons/canals with plastics. Such as the best location and things. Would be extremely helpful.
i agreee with you on the stronger plastic material needed or stretchier. but also i think they can afford to do 3 or at least 2 in a pack for $20... maybe even bigger and smaller sizes down the track would be good.
@@mylurebox Id do it with a single strand 44lb wire rather than the kevlar thread though .... Im gonna use this where I live , I reckon wahoo will love this and they've got serious teeth. With the small model , this wont be a problem.
I don't know about the squid, but the Chasebaits crabs get things done. The little Crusty Crab kills the Sheepshead and Drum near the piers. I am expecting the bigger Smash Crab to slay the Tarpon when the big ones come back in.
I almost got a pack today, for ling cod in California. I went with a octopus swim bait instead, but I do wanna try these. Wish I seen this video before I went to the store, I woulda got these for sure...
Awesome vid , spot on on the nature of the material , it does tear a bit , i caught a nice snapper on the lumo color one at the 36faths , they work a treat but are probably not gonna last too long on the bigger reefies. Still well worth the cash tho. 👌
Hi David, my suggestion would be a 5/0 or bigger and as lightly weighted as possible to give it that natural fall and glide. The more natural colours would be my pick. That said I haven’t chased em myself yet. The next season for sure ;)
mylurebox thanks mate for such a quick response...I noticed it’s been a year since this video had any comments...good to know you still check up on other rookie anglers in need of advice
I have a couple ideas for a top water frog and bait fish similar to the live target sunfish and frog but with different tails. Possibly a jointed body. Contemplating talking to a lure company about it. Have a few rough sketches and layout.
mylurebox he talks about them being soft and tearing, but that's the trade off. Soft plastics with lots of action but they don't last long, or harder plastics with little to no action that last forever, but don't trigger fish. If the lure work great I have no issue with buying several and replacing as needed
Definitely a cool idea mate. I’d suggest having a chat with some smaller lure makers to help steer clear of the pitfalls. There are definitely a few in getting a design to market but not at all enough to stop you getting it done ;) also there’s plenty on the topic on blogs and forums :)
Re. The lure make up. I’m happy buying something that works too mate. The Elaztech material that’s becoming more mainstream is a game changer too I reckon

Good review, question is, do you still use them going into 2022?

Ill get onto it Flynn ;) My DVD Monster Jacks goes through a lot of it also.
Would love to see how these go with a Heavier Jig head, and jigged off your Jet Ski in 2020. Cobia and Kings should Hit them.

Sorry for the late comment... any reason behind this colour compared to other more natural calamari colours. Cheers keep up the great content 🤙🏽
Add a couple of smaller assist hooks to the main hook , on a long 'leash' so that they flop around between the tentacles .
Perfect concept mate. Cheers. I’ll give that a go for sure.

Thank you very much John
Great vid, will pick these up, what size jig head hooks did you use?
3/8oz or heavier with 5/0 or larger hooks mate. The lighter the head the better the lifelike fall on it ;)
Very life like, bass and crappie love them. I will be getting more.
Rig them up with the weight in the tube and the line pulling from the tentacles/beak end. Just like a diving and hunting squid

Hi. Can you tell me, what kind of fishing rod and reel, you are using ( brand, model, length, weight...etc). Thank you for informacion.
Jorge Magalhães hi Jorge, I’m using a shimano curado 200 reel with a 5’10 3-6kg medium action Bass Raider By Shimano. ;)

Whats your favorite color for these?

Was referring to the hook.size....thx
Cedric Yuen 3/0 to 5/0 by the looks of it.

These are beautiful, and although not normally part of a bass diet, I'm sure they will eat them.
1CAMFURY totally agree. Those side flares are so nuts. Definitely got some game to pull fish in.
