If we allow this, we are betraying every digger who died and suffered at the hands of Japanese war criminals not all that many years ago. We dismiss the young Aussie nurses murdered on the beaches of Bangka. We dismiss the barbarity and cruelty. We dismiss the the outrage and horror every Australian felt then, and since then. If war crimes can only be committed by the side that loses, and telling the truth about crimes is a crime, then we are no better than Imperial Japan.

The Nuremberg Trials established in humanity the personal responsibility of the indivdual. 'Just following orders' is no defence. If you see criminality performed and you say nothing you are as guilty as the person pulling the trigger. The military relies on obedience for swift action in combat BUT using that to cover up murder is wrong. David McBride did the right thing and I hope if he knew then what he knows now, he would still leak those files. He has a responsibility as a human being, a lawyer and an Australian citizen.
You're a hero, and history will be on your side. It's a disgrace that your persecution not only begun, but continues.

I bear witness that Muhammad was one of God's messengers.
Why does it matter?
The British monarchs swear to govern on the pattern of righteous kingship like David and Solomon.
When sworn in they say a prayer.
Then have they followed that pattern? If not, why not?
Jesus was not asked to fix government.
He was a messenger of truth and mercy in the line of prophets.
He was Jesus, the Son of Mary, but not Jesus, the son of God.
He can't save you, but God can and God will save you if you are fully submitted, because it's a promise.
Muhammad was sent to fix governments.
Same God, same line of prophets, same covenant, the covenant of Abraham, but different prayer direction and fasting rites.
The difference is minor. Muhammad had to say - as God ordered it in the holy book - that he was nothing new amongst the messengers.
I'm writing it here in case you hadn't heard it, and again, why does it matter?
The judges and generals can't resolve the problems you want them too without leveraging real faith to brush away the colonial cobwebs and build a republic.
Soldiers will fight for the country rather than the minister when they are not earning hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I have prayed to God to guide you and I expect the signs will be coming at you - unless you only want signs for the court case and not the bigger questions.
Signs will come that are not just bagpipes, David McBride, but clearer signs will almost certainly come to you because the Qur'an has more signs than you need.
Each verse of the qur'an is a sign. That is what the qur'an calls them. We translate it as verses, but in the qur'an they are signs.
