I like how he tries to incrementally disclose bad news to soften the blow. First it was “I’ll still be going to the wedding”, then it was, “well obviously if they say I’ll be a distraction I’ll do something else that weekend”. Next show it’ll be that he thought about it and made the decision that he shouldn’t go because he doesn’t want to be a distraction, until they eventually come out and say nah, we didn’t want this guy at our wedding. Similar to the way he spins everything to paint himself in a better light, they didn’t “leave the show” because they don’t want to be associated with me, “it was always temporary”.
