The Kilkenny bar in Berlin, there was a lad playing irish songs. My partner went into a Lord of the Dance frenzy. However, as part of the routine involves a raised arm with fingers extended...I'm not sure the locals liked it. In Paris in 2019 we were in an irish bar and they made us go downstairs to watch Tipp skin Laois. They had tennis on upstairs! Also, thanks Johhny B for the pic with the Newport u11's in Clonmel a few weeks back. Made their day.
I lived in Germany and I only went to Irish bars to watch hurling and rugby matches. They're good craic, but if you only go to Irish bars while on holiday, you may as well just go to Carlow for your holiday.
I went to 15 irish pubs in Boston trying to find serbia v ireland back in 2016 no pubs showed the game, eventually payed 30 dollars in a taxi got a tip game might be shown in the banshee out in some random irish town, low and behold rte and load of death stares walking into bar, like walking into proper inner city bar north Dublin, some guinness aswell.
Culture-free Johnny Smacks and his obsession with moving between native and foreign Irish pubs. International travel at it's very best. Tipp style. Totally dispelling the myth of the drunken Irish. Best Irish bar in Europe, O'Malleys in Helsinki.
Every Irish bar I've ever been to outside of Ireland has been filled with Northern English people, every damn time. Will say though, Irish pubs are top tier, kind of reminds me how English pubs used to be. Music is way better. Salmon leap in Leixlip is chill though. Especially when the rugby on.
The reason you only ever see Irish bars is the same reason why you always see Italian restaurants, ya have to stick to what your good at …. You never see an Italian bar just like you never see an Irish restaurant.

Western consumerist entitlement doesn’t mix well with the Greek egalitarian mentality. If you travel, it’s nice to spend at least a month somewhere to get a feel for the culture. Otherwise it’s just window shopping. If all you want is a good Irish pub, the best are in Ireland! If you don’t like foreign Irish bars, don’t go to them and then they will go out of business.
