    I've been using FL for more than 20 years. Did a lot of experimenting and playing around in the beginning, but you quickly find some routines that works and gets the job done. Just recently discovered patcher and boy, is that a gamechanger. It makes a lot of what I used to do much easier. This is a great overview and tutorial and at the same time shows an easy way to sidechained reverb. Nice job !

    I've been using FL for 5 years now, and patcher is great... But I rarely get to use it. I'm heavily limited since I'm not actually sure how to get information in *or out* of patcher. Like, when you showed that sidechained reverb, how would I even link an automation line to any of those dials, like a normal plugin? How do I get a peak controller to affect what's happening inside patcher? How to I get a controller inside patcher to link to something *outside* patcher? I'm sure I could find a way eventually, but setting aside a bunch of time to work out all the nuances can be a little frustrating. Edit: fixed typo

    • @KnightPlaylist

      If you are asking how to link patcher to a midi controller, here is one way. Create a knob like he did. Right click. Select activate. Then right-click again and select link to controller. Move a knob on your controller and then they should be linked.

    Hey Max, great tutorial. I was wondering, it looks as if you record your voice after doing the video. How do you figure out the timing between how long between each event you are doing in the video, and what you say? This is something I struggle with. I would ideally like to make, quick to the point videos, as you do, where the information flows seamlessly.

    Can you please explain how to do an inverse relation between a surface knob and its mapped knob inside one of the devices? I mean, so that if you turn a surface knob up, then the device knob goes down...

    • @somedude4728
      @somedude4728 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are a lot of ways to do this but the simplest way would be to have a formula controller with the formula "1-a", then making the surface knob modulate the "a parameter" and having the output of the formula controller modulate the knob you want to control.
