Can you give some more information on the potassium chloride dip? What ratio do you mix it, how long do you dip coral and is it harmful to any coral in your experience?
I had this problem before I broken down the tank. I can see the algae was out of control, the water parameters were way off and unbalanced, no coralline algae, corals not happy and inverts not lasting long at all. So I broke down the tank and restarted it. This will be a very helpful video when the green hair algae phase comes

What was their phosphate at??

Is it just gonna come back after the reef flux wears off
Not if it regular maintenance. This helps swing the balance.

What brand of reef flux do you use?
What did you use to treat for hydroids?

Try to increase Mg to 1900+ for a few weeks. Snails will NOT like it, but job done.
