In this video I am going to show you how to create this amazing Rainbow Mermaid Tail design. It's super easy to do but it is a bit fiddly and takes a while!! It's well worth the effort though. Look how shiny it is! 😍
This is also a great way to bling up your usual stiletto nails and the effect when you move the nail is just amazing! :D

Looks great! I can't trust striping tape to stay put under any sort of gel though, even builder, I have to cap it with acrylic otherwise it just starts to peel after a couple of days!
MmmCremeEggs7 yeah i was going to ask because i have been following her annd she normally encapsulates with clear acrylic maybe it was a last minute decision????
MmmCremeEggs7 are you capping the edges fully with your gel?
She leaves a bit of a border so it creates a seal
I've also had that experience. Gel doesn't hold it, builder gel holds it better, but encapsulating everything in clear acrylic is the best way. Just have to be REALLY careful filing it so you can get it smooth and even before you hit the decorations.

I'd like to see more details on getting the apex correct and the thickness of a salon nail. I know practice makes perfect but some times hearing it and seeing technique is a huge help!

I had to stop watching and skip to the end. There was some shockingly horrible editing on this video. I'm honestly not big into nails on myself for a plethora of reasons, most of them medical, but when I saw your videos on my suggested a week ago, I just had to click and I've been hooked ever since. And every video I've watched has had great camera work and editing... until this one. When you would go from the side view to the top view, you'd suddenly go forward or backward in time, then skip back when the view reverted to the other angle.
So gorgeous, but there's no way I would have the patience for this! Striping tape is such a pain in the a$$! You're a better woman than me Kirsty! 😉😉😉
that looks like it look FOREVER, even just the prep work for pre cutting all those stripes, and thats just for ONE nail, now to do the other....I can barely manage to unravel those stripe rolls, just like my struggles with finding the end of a masking tape.... the pain! ... so good on anyone who has the courage and patience and tact for this 😥👏👏👏

I have lots of patients and have done many different and tricky designs but this striping tape has me swearing and throwing stuff ,every time I use it it just doesn't stay put so it's safely tucked into a draw in my nail case these days and if anyone wants it doing I tell my tails of rage and strangle enough they choose a different design 😊

You should do an actual mermaid with a tail as the tip of the nail. It would be cool if it was like 3D or 4D 😊.

anytime I'm trying acrylic (I'm practicing), The acrylic gets dry/hard and lumpy on the brush tip... any idea why ? i wipe with every dipping but still 😫 my brush isnt as thick as in most your videos.
Navin.N.Sally Family Videos have you got a brush cleaner & make sure you fully saturate the brush, then pick up a bead with only one side, don't dip the top of the brush in xx
Navin.N.Sally Family Videos I'm a qualified tech, so I may be able to offer some advice. if your brush is a cheapy one that can cause problems. you need a size 8 to begin with and make sure it's a kolinsky brush. then when you're applying your acrylic make sure ur brush is clean and your not contaminating your liquid with acrylic. I'm sure Kirsty did a video not long ago about bead pick up and ratio maybe that could help xx

Lauren Jade it does help having a decent brush I've done nails for nearly 9 yrs now and you just can't do an amazing set with a cheap eBay £2 brush.

Beautiful nail~! Lovely Kirsty! The only thing I would change, is starting with a base color under the tape. I do see some exposure of the nail on the sides near the edge, as each individual tape does not lay exactly next to each other toward the edge of the nail on the sides.

Striping is really difficult for me. trying to put it on your non-dominant hand by yourself is not easy! But since I have all the striping tapes I need I'm going to go ahead and give this a try, nice thing is if I don't like it I can tear It Off , but it does look better on the Stiletto nail I'm going to try this on a coffin nail.

Why not encased that on clear acrylic? Sometimes that tape does stay even if you put top coat( I've tried millions of times

Gina Mhay looks like just a lil bit. I imagine it would be too bulky or bumpy to completely overlap. I have no skill with stripping tape lol! I have to encapsulate or it would come off.
