Man I said it one year ago in Adif tutorial and I have to say it again. Niagara needs an easy and straightforward module to make particles follow splines. Is mindblowing they didn't built-in one yet
Hi, thanks for the video! do you know a way to set move and rotate along the path? I've managed to make it move but it always facing one direction and it doesn't look right when it moves along the path.. Thanks in advance if anyone answers!
1.Make sure in Scratch Module map you have PARTICLE Position input. Not LOCAL Position. 2. Don't forget to hit APPLY on Scratch module and all will work. Also question: How to spawn more particles? I don't want only one following the spline. I don't want CIRCLE spline, how to kill particle when it reaches 1 of the spline? Other wise it teleports and creates trail.
For anyone stuck and not seeing the particle move along the spline, make sure your scratch node input "Age" is "Emitter Age" and not "Particles age". This was the fix for me.
The particle moves on an arc and produces irregular lines between the end and start positions of the arc. Can you please advise on how to handle this. thanks
scratch module* keeps giving a compile error on unreal 5.5, some sort of issues with the map set and spline position. in 5.5 when you connect these two nodes it automatically adds a new node in and this seems to be the issue. not sure how to resolve it as a beginner though
Hi, I can't get my Niagra ribbon to follow the spline. What I see as the difference is that my Niagra is a Niagra system (blue), not a Niagra texture (red). I am in UE5.4. I tried making a Niagra texture, but there is no properties option, so I can't complete the steps, and it doesn't work. Any help would be great. I am sure I am just missing one spot.
Particles Did not moved for me neither, then I realised I created the Scratch Module in Particle Spawn module, and that is WRONG, you have to put it in the Particle Update module cause it won't update the particles positions. And of course also hit "apply" on scratch module. :) . And if still doesnt work dont forget that spline U_position is in range 0-1. So may be try particle Normalized Age , instead of Emitter Age.
Make sure the "Scratch Module" is under "Particle Update" and not "Particle Spawn". Compare the order and position from the video to yours.. Had the same problem and fixed it by moving them in the right place. Works with 5.4

UE 5.4 it works :D
Thank you so much :)

Whenever I tried that, it fails to compile. Any idea why?
thank you very much. helpful

I can see the outline of a particle following the path, but the main color is transparent for me.

How can I do this but to move continuously across a straight spline instead of circle, no matter the length?
Hello, it'possible to use this effect for the mouse cursor? Thank you

brooo i did everything but when i do this 5:50 the particles dont move D:

Solution is the APPLY button in the Scratch Module. It was so nervious to figure out

Not working in UE 5.3, particle is not following the spline.

Hello ,The "New Scratch Pad Module" ,I can't found it in UE5.3

Hello, Is it possible to set the spline inside the blueprint ?
Sure
@@CorebGames heheh thank you but how do you do that ?
Yes. See sample SplineCraft LIGHT :)
it has to be an easier way, this overcomplacited in 2024
this tutor is an absolutely useless waste of time
agree, particle doesnt move at all
