So with Melek. If you have a dual spell like one with an Instant AND sorcery side, would that one card count as two for his ability?

I believe you have to choose one. His ability states the first Instant "or" sorcery you cast each turn. If it had "and" then I would think you could cast both for 3 less.

That's a really good question, and I took the time to research some ruling with dual spells. No matter if it has fuse or if it's a split card like Commit // Memory; it still counts as one card. Melek will still see it as either a single instant card or a single sorcery card making him a 2/2. (Of course if it's the only spell in your graveyard.) Hope this helps!
