Man this game was amazing, I remember how hyped I was when they first revealed it, I couldn't wait to play it and it didn't disappoint, as it's in my opinion, the definitive KOF game (not my absolute favorite, but close).

If this had more players support ranking system I think this game will find its way into local FGC tournaments again kof 98 is still big in tournaments this could be a worthy successor to it I hope the same company that's doing the netcode does it for Kof 13 and that game will be played until 2050

The hardest part of picking up a fighting game is learning how to do the motion inputs. Once you’ve got those down, the only thing to worry about across the genre is specific game mechanics

There is currently a rollback netcode beta by Code Mystics going on through steam.
KOF changes throughout its games. But 98, 2002, 2002 um, and 14 feel similar to each other.

This brings back memories of playing XIII. My team was King, Andy & Ryo and it was so dope! I would love to see a revival of XIII or at least KOV XV be 2D-sprites.
I don't think Americans know how to play this game. The best KOF players are in south america, Japan and of course China.

I'm new to SNK fighting games. Just wondering how I should map my buttons on stick: is it better to map it A,B,C and D to the 4 top buttons, or should do A and B as the first 2 top buttons and C and D as the first 2 bottom buttons?
Probably easier to map them like SF buttons and instead of heavies you have max mode activation command set to one and maybe roll or blowback for the other. this is easiest for me at least, compared to having them all lined up
@@Jaybaybay2838 That's a good idea. I can set the SF heavy buttons to A and D for one and B and C for the other since they would be awkward to press together. Then I can just set the far right top button to all four. Thanks!
That's really s matter of preference because all those have different pros and cons.
A+B first bottom 2, C+D last top 2.
A+B is the dodge move(sidestep in '94, '95, '97 and 98, roll from '96 onwards, weird backdash in '99 when holding back)and C+D is the knockdown move(except in 2K3 and XI, where it's 3rd member tag).
ABCD across is the default neo geo config and that's what these games are designed for. Activation is done with BC together and the two row buttons config makes it super awkward.

@@malik2978 u should know snk if there's a character that doesn't in the saga like chizuru they will not put her in dream matc.theres alot of character snk make that's sometime doesn't get in next kof because there's a reason behind it snk is not capcom who pick same character it's not that they neglected them it's the saga story if the character doesn't mean anything to the story they will not put them
@@malik2978 about Shermie Chris and yashiro because they are dead do u see any kof boss that are alive or playable after death or defeat no snk will not put dead character without a reason people should know this already kof 14 ending show alot of cameo character to get in kof 15 also alot of boss is alive and some other character like Samsho boss is in kof universe mizuki also Leona father gaidel plus verse is like plot to revive dead boss alot of character will be playable because there's is some character will involve in story or snk just put fan favourite that are no important in story just for fun oh and verse is still alive somewhere in Australia

I don't know if it's different on the steam version but on the Amazon Games version of SamSho V that code mystics worked on, they ask you to share your IP address to play with other people. That's not normal, is it?
