I first heard this at my brother-in-law's wedding reception. There was a whole playlist of PMJ that played softly in the background while everyone ate, before the DJ kicked the dancing off. It gave the whole affair the feel of an upscale cocktail party, and I recognized the lyrics to All About That Bass and was like 'WTF?!" So this was the second song, and I made my husband go up and ask the DJ what this was. After that, we were fans! Love this!

Post Modern Jukebox is a sort of musical co-op that Scott Bradly (piano, arranger) formed
with musicians rotating in and out for different projects. They have toured with several different

Sabina - PMJ calls itself a "musical collective." Scott Bradlee (pianist, arranger, and genius) is the driving force. He imagines a modern song recast in a "throwback" style from the mid-20th century, and then recruits the necessary musicians and singer(s) to bring it to life. As a result, PMJ never sounds the same twice.
Postmodern Jukebox is fantastic. I'd recommend Seven Nation Army, All About That Bass, and Dream On.

Anyone that's NOT blown away by this performance simply doesn't understand what goes into singing. Haley Reinhart is a once-in-a-generation singer.
I've heard this song nearly 100 times... and Haley's version just makes it a whole new song every single time I hear her singing it. I don't care who wrote it, she truly made it her own.

Haley is both a voice actor, a movie actor (and sang the theme), commercial song for Extra Gum (please don't watch it you easily shed tears). Her genre is varied. She made an album of 70s hits (she performed in her parents rock band growing up), has sung with jazz orchestras, has performed on tv, has original music on three albums, she's toured with PostModern Jukebox on four Continents, solo tours in Europe... What did I leave out Tusk? She, like Floor Jansen, have great command of her instrument though not the classical background of Floor. She's been my favorite performer for the last decade, and there is plenty in her catalog to choose from. Check out her yodeling skills on the Country classic Blue. This not a reaction quest just for your enjoyment.

@@brewswillis9783 Nah, I love Pentatonix, but the PMJ version is so unique and different - with those two voices and characters, and with the intriguing arrangement, it outstrips them by a good margin. Obviously music is all subjective to the listener, but I'm not alone in my opinion.
Pent's version is excellent, but it's just not the same ballpark here. Besides, Pent, Voiceplay, Home Free - it's a different art, love, etc. Apples to Oranges. :)
Please, whatever you do, skip the Mad World with Haley Reinhart and the big oaf of a clown Puddles Pity Party. It's a cute performance by Haley, but with respect to the vocals, there is nothing extraordinary.
I've been a Halien for 10 years, since she participated in American Idol.
Haley is jazz trained, but being an old soul, she favors rock and ballads from the 60's and 70's.
I watched all the reactions of this performance on TH-cam. Yours was pleasantly different. Like many, you refrained from stopping the video, but unlike all the others, you injected captions in all the pertinent moments. I loved this approach, and I loved watching you get blown away by this performance.

I first saw Haley on American Idol years ago, where she absolutely slayed The House of the Rising Sun. I have never seen anybody react to it no matter how much I recommend it, so perhaps it's copyright protected? If it's not, it's my favorite version of the song, I kid you not!

Always fun to watch reactors being introduced to Haley Reinhart (and Postmodern Jukebox). Her PMJ covers of "Seven Nation Army", "Don't Speak" and "Black Hole Sun" are also great, and her original songs are beautiful. Haley's got such incredible control of her vocal instrument and the personas she adopts in performing these inventive covers with PMJ are perfectly in tune with the song.
Elizabeth Zharoff (AKA "The Charismatic Voice") did a great reaction (th-cam.com/video/1HXICT_NA4Y/w-d-xo.html) really delving into how Haley does what she does as a vocalist. Informative but also really entertaining because Elizabeth is so charmed by Haley's performance. She also notes that Haley's performance and body language in "Creep" seem to also offer some commentary on women's empowerment.

This is my favorite version now-- love Radiohead, but this one was more compelling! You do need to listen to more of her. Another with both her and Morgan James is "Its all About that bass." And look at Morgan James with PMJ doing "Dream on" by Aerosmith!!! equally stunning!! And then a duet of Morgan James and Haley Reknhard sitting on a sofa with a guitar accompaniment (Morgan's husband) on the beatles, "Dear Prudence."

More Haley please, no matter if with or without PMJ, everything she touches turns into gold... with PMJ I'd recommend "Don't Speak", another (more recent) cover (of the "classic" No Doubt original) or basically any of Scott Bradlee's (head and arranger of all PMJ, to be seen on piano) jazzifications, done with her (and other great singers as Morgan James, but Haley is clearly my favorite...), but also her originals, check her newest one "Roll The Dice", or the version of "Don't Know How To Love You" recorded direct to vinyl in an abandoned Grand Hotel in the Austrian alpes with the great Sascha Peres Orchestra for the score of the documentary "An Impossible Project" - or the thing that went viral in 2015, her cover of the Elvis classic "Can't Help Falling In Love" with Casey Abrams on piano... ❤️(Extra version done for Wrigleys is the best imo, but also the one done with Casey for her own channel without advertisement is great...)

@@perkosean , won't argue with you about that, actually the b/w one was the first one I got to know and loved right away, also the video is great as it has the focus on her performing and she's gorgeous! Only later I found out about the "Extra" ad, about which I love the outtakes at the beginning showing the amazing chemistry between her and Casey (whom I recommend to check out as well, he recently did some hilarious piano covers of a couple of beautiful old songs, great stuff, I love him almost as much as I love Haley...), and her vocals might be slightly more exquisite on that one, but we don't get to see much of Haley in that... so for a reaction actually the first one might be more suited, yet I'd recommend to check the "Extra" as well...

BTW, no idea if true but urban legend or rumor when Haley's Creep first hit was that not only was she not feeling well that day (they were on tour somewhere maybe Germany) but that they did that in one take. I love Haley so much, I prefer to believe that even if it does feel a bit over the top!
I do not know anyone else that could pull of that many and those kinds of vocal dynamics without sounding cheap or a show off, but Haley just makes it so natural that it is just chilling in a great way.
Great reaction as usual Sabina. She has a wonderful voice and can be seen on many PMJs but also solo, and she does a great duet of Dear Prudence with Morgan James. So many great versions of songs in the PMJ repertoire. Morgan James's Dream On is a standout, but Maps (with Morgan) and All About the Bass with Haley, Morgan and Arianna Savalas are terrific. Morgan James doing Take Me to Church with PMJ supremo, Scott Bradley (the pianist in this video), has to be worth a react, too.
The Haley/Morgan performance of "Dear Prudence" is wonderful. It's recorded in Morgan's living room. Morgan and Haley are kicked back on the sofa barefoot and Morgan's husband accompanies them on acoustic guitar. One mic off-camera, so it sounds like what it is - Morgan's home, not a sound stage. You really get to see the amazing talent possessed by these ladies.
I wanted to make sure I said thanks for turning me on to the song "Remember Where You Are" by Jessie Ware. I liked your intro song, so I searched some of the lyrics and found out what song it was (I had never heard it before). First off: Great reaction! I was excited, and somewhat surprised, to see that you weren't already familiar with this song/cover. I remember the first time I heard this, and I was totally blown away (I had to immediately go share it on Facebook, which is something I rarely do).
If you go to the Postmodern Jukebox (PMJ) page here on TH-cam, you'll see that they have over 1.7 *billion* views for all their songs. This song has the most views (by far) of all of them (99M views as of this comment). If you really like Haley, you should definitely check out PMJ's cover of The White Stripes "Seven Nation Army" featuring Haley again. I believe that's her second most viewed video on that channel (just short of 46M views currently) where she's the soloist. It's wonderful.
Btw, the pianist, Scott Bradlee, does the arrangements for all (or just about all?) of their performances.

She wasn't sick. That's a false rumor.
She was tired after recording All About That Bass and doing backup vocals on Styles on the same day. She also had a busy week of live shows .
Scott Bradlee was convinced she could do it in one take. After this rendition, Haley wasn't sure it was a good recording, but Scott was pleased with the outcome.

I don't think she was sick, just tired as she was on tour in Europe with PMJ at that time and had sung all the week, this was recorded during a day off at Zurich, and they had done recordings during that whole day through as well, so Scott had to convince Haley to do this as a final one as he felt they might do it in one take, so she did, and: bam! You can hear Scott telling the whole story about his arrangement of "Creep" which lead to this monumental recording in the end in a video:

There's a famous saying that explains why Haley isn't the most popular singer in the world: "There's no accounting for taste."
Any time that Haley and Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox join together to make music it will be amazing. Another artist that sings with PMJ is Morgan James a Julliard trained vocalist that also makes amazing music. What's really fun is to get Haley, Morgan and PMJ together sometimes with other great singers and they just blow the roof off. Every thing that I've heard by any combination of these great vocalist and musicians has been off the charts. Scott Bradlee, the pianist, is also a wonderful arranger when it comes to taking one genre and changing it up with a more vintage sound. You should listen to Morgan James with PMJ do the old Aerosmith song "Dream On". I know you will probably, but you should definitely turn Henri on to these folks. Great job as always Sabina, keep it up!!!

Haley is one of the best there is. You have to experience her more. She has much more here on TH-cam. There isn't just one good word to describe her and her style of singing.
Haley comes from a musical family and more or less grew up in a famous soul/blues recording studio. She still sings with her dad playing guitar, he’s a legend.
It is a great cover and all the covers by PMJ are brilliant. Scott Bradlee the pianist does all the arrangements. Im sure you will get lots of requests but there cover of Seven Nation Army with Haley singing is the usual next step. Yeah, when I hear someone do a cover, I'd much prefer a completely new and different take on the song. I don't need a biological juke box to spit out the song the same way it was originally done, although more often than not, that's what you'll get. If I want to hear the song in it's original format I know where I can do that. This is one of the best covers I've ever heard. I'd heard it before this reaction though. Glad you enjoyed it so much.
Haley finished third on American Idol in 2010. She does great covers with PMJ on Seven Nation Army, Oops I did it Again, Love Fool, Mad World (duet with Puddles Pity Party), Black Hole Sun and also a great version of All About That Bass (with Casey Abrams, Morgan James and Ariana Savalas). Solo, she has done a great version of Can't Help Falling in Love for an Extra Gum Ad. She has some nice solo work and grew up in a musical family as her parents had a rock band. She has a great classic rock covers album, I especially love her and her dad on Can't Find My Way Home. She covers White Rabbit, Baby It's You, The Letter and many others. Two more collaborations are Haley and Morgan James on the Beatles Dear Prudence and Haley with Slash and Myles Kennedy on the Rolling Stones' Wild Horses. She has a versatile voice for pop, rock and jazz.

Yeah I like Haley, she first came on the scene quite a few years ago. American idol, I think she was the second or third runner up. That was 10 years ago, or so. I love the piano player also he's done the Mastermind or ringleader. Just a few months ago Haley and the band did a cover of don't speak from no doubt turn that on it's head! In a good way. My favorite singer since she appeared on American Idol 10 years ago and came in 3rd. Most believe she was robbed but Haley has been quite successful with 4 albums and many beautiful original songs. Angelina Jordan is the only other artist I put in the class of Haley. She did several covers with PMJ and there most viewed covers are with Haley as lead. Original songs include: Don't Know How To Love You, Honey There's The Door, Shook, Deep Water, and her latest release Roll The Dice. My favorite cover is Can't Find My Way Back Home, by Eric Clapton, with her father on guitar at the famous Chess Records Studio in Chicago. She grew up in Chicago with her parents performing with their own band so she has been around music her entire life.
