This is my favorite song by The Fray and it's amazing that there is also an acoustic version. No words can describe how I feel and how much I love this band. They have helped me through all the bad things going on in my life for the past year. I knew this band since I first heard "How To Save A Life" back when my mom watched Grey's Anatomy. I also liked Over My Head and just didn't know it was this band haha. But I will never forget the day I "discovered" this band almost 2 years ago. They have forever changed my life. I don't what I would do if they ever broke up. I really hope I can go the Train concert that's featuring The Fray and Matt Nathanson because it would honestly complete my life. I couldn't go last year and this could possibly be the last time they come to my city for a few years or never again... :(
Urielyadork. This has always been my favorite song from them, and one of my top favorites of all time. I love how the music and story the lyrics tell go hand in hand, as the two characters get closer the tempo and volume of the music gets more urgent.
+Urielyadork. To be honest, I'm in a really similar situation as you! A lot have things have been going on in my life for the past few years, and have resulted in some pretty dark stuff.. When I came across The Fray a few years back, I was like "Ohhh, so these are the guys that sang 'how to save a life'", and to be honest I didn't exactly get hooked to them right away, until I saw that they had released Scars and Stories a few months before. I started listening to the album and the rest is kind of history. Their music helped me cope with the mess of what was my life, and as I'm writing this now I find it ironic that their most popular song is titled 'how to save a life', because they surely saved mine... I was blessed enough to be able to see them back in June along wit Train and Matt Nathanson, which also happened to be my first concert :)
I totally understand where you're coming from.. When I was way younger, my brother's used to listen to How To Save A Life, You Found Me, and Over My Head very often. Being that I no choice but to listen, I grew into this type of music. Later, I found How To Save A Life and saw the this band, The Fray, had sung it. As I dug more into their music, I realized that they had also sung You Found Me and Over My Head. That's when I knew I wanted to find more of their music. Well.. I'm here now about 5 years later and I'm might have all their songs/the majority of their songs downloaded and I listen to them almost everyday. I had a really rough 2 years (so far) and The Fray (along with Owl City, my favorite singer) really helped me think positive and stay strong. I don't know where I'd be with The Fray (and Owl City). You're comment gave me so much hope. I also see that you posted this one year ago, so I'm not sure if you went to their concert, but if not, I really hope you can in the future. I understand how much you want(ed) to go to their concert. ;3 I never really considered attending one of their concerts too much, especially that I haven't had the opportunity to yet, but I know that the thought of it is there. I'm a huge fan of Owl City and I have been waiting for the opportunity to go to one of his concert, but it hasn't come yet, so that's how I know how you feel about attending one of The Fray's concerts. I would like to remind you that this comment gave me so much hope, so thank you so, so much!
This song is so powerful. Makes me so emotional. The need for care and love and comfort for those who need it. My take is it’s a story that starts out about a man who falls in love with a broken women who desperately needs love and safety and comfort. Then he goes to war and comforts another wounded soldier. Then he comes home from war with PTSD and desperately needs his own love and comfort. So tragically sad, but so good. God bless this country and the men that fight so selflessly for it.
I love how, when he sings, you can tell that that's his natural voice, that's what comes to him naturally when he sings, It's amazing, truly. He's so in his element and in a way it's vulnerable and real, yet so strong and powerful. They say you can't be vulnerable and own a performance....well, I think this proves that wrong for sure. It's captivating....this is this right here is a love and passion for music.
Yeah as a guy I can agree that is voice is genuine and raw at the same time capturing emotion. Thumbs up if you think people who use auto-tune is actually talented.
Literally breath-taking, I caught myself gawking at the screen with watery eyes, even after the song had ended. I was taken back by the passion. I could not possibly explain how much I love this band, they're beautiful.
At one moment during this summer I had a stress breakdown at work and I felt like rope was tied around my head tighting up with the time. I tried with the pills but it didnt help. Went on the beach in the middle of the night listening to this song. Not only that I got rid of stress but I never felt more calm in my life after couple repeats.Always been my favourite song but this event just makes it undebateable. Lyrics are other worldy. Thank you The Fray and thank you Isaac for making this so perfect on an unscalable level.
"Maybe god can be on both sides of the gun; never understood why some of us never get it so good"... The only statement that ever made religion any sort of relatable.
This song covers so many topics it's hard to pinpoint the real meaning of the song. The song starts with really the story of just a boy and a girl, but as you reach the final verses, you see the topic shifts to one that encompasses a lot more. It becomes a statement about war ("another nation, fallen"), religion ("maybe God can be on both sides of the gun"), and much more. This is really one of their deepest songs in my opinion.
There are no words to describd my love for this special and brilliant song. It speaks right to my heart.❤❤❤i love the fray and issac slade is one of the best and inspirational artists(real artists) out there. He is one of a kind. I really need to see them before i will die. They were there to my happiness and misery and have so much to tell them. Everyone who met them is so lucky❤❤❤
I don't think that I can really explain how much I love them. Their music touches me so deep. Isaac has the most beautiful voice ever and it sounds great live
My love for this band is indescribable.... I've been listening to them since I was 6 years old. Thank you for coming from Colorado. Please come back and play a show for my 16th birthday!!! :)
The Fray See you there Don't know where you come from Unaware the stare from someone Don't appear to care that I saw you, and I want you too What's your name? Because I have to know it You let me in and begin to show it We're terrified, because we're heading straight for it, might get it Your favorite song plays on the background All alone but you turn it up now And everyone is rising to meet you, to greet you Turn around and you're walking toward me I'm breaking down and you're breathing slowly Say the word and I will be your man, your man Say when And my own two hands will comfort you Tonight, tonight Say when And my own two arms will carry you Tonight, tonight Come close and even closer We bring it in, but we go no further We separate two ghosts in one mirror, no mirror Later on, if it turns to chaos Hurricanes coming all around us See the crack, pull it back From the window, you stay low Say when And my own two hands will comfort you Tonight, tonight Say when And my own two arms will carry you Tonight, tonight Come across, you're lost and broken You're coming to, you're slow and waking You start to shake Still haven't spoken, what happened? I'm coming back and you just don't know when You want to cry but there's nothing coming They're gonna push until you give in, say when Now we're here and it turns to chaos Hurricanes coming all around us Another crack throws you back from the window You stay low All began with the man of country Another plan sends another century Around again another nation, fallen Any guy can be on both sides of a coin Never understood why Some of us never get a shoulder, shoulder Some of this we kept with us All of us will go out there 'Cause it never stops until we give in, give in To give in, give in Say when And my own two hands will comfort you Tonight, tonight Say when And my own two arms will carry you Tonight, tonight Say when And my own two hands will comfort you Tonight, tonight.
2023. Tonight I’m 25, still listen to this, my only reminder of what it has ever felt like to love someone. I won’t ever again, that much I’m sure of now. Most don’t talk about this, but it’s so hard to die, but still be left on this earth. Simply left behind.
I see you there, don't know where you come from Unaware of a stare from someone Don't appear to care that I saw you, and I want you What's your name? The lyrics of this song are a masterpiece.
"Say When" and "Vienna" are extremly uderated
There’s really no way to reach me
So true!I
True
My absolute favorites!!!! This one tried to take down Vienna but not quite.
My two favorites! I like the versions of Vienna from both How to Save a Life and from the Reason EP
My favorite song of The Fray, getting chills every damn time hearing this

So pretty
Yesss especially the part where he sings “and my own two hands will comfort you tonight.”!
I don't give a shit that 2024 is almost over. Fray has been my comfort music the past 15 years. I'll never stop bumping it 🤙
Just joined that club this year

**UPDATE I got to see The Fray at the Picasso At The Wheel Tour. They were freaking amazing and I cried btw lol.

The emotion on his face as he sings makes me want to friggin cry... Makes me remember some deep things.. Damn.. Very beautiful.
I knoooooww!

This song might be my favorite song of all time. As a writer, I have found that it always holds more energy for me than anything else.
This song induces tears like no other.
Have you even heard be still?
Yeah as a guy I can agree that is voice is genuine and raw at the same time capturing emotion. Thumbs up if you think people who use auto-tune is actually talented.
This song, this version, will never get old.
Literally breath-taking, I caught myself gawking at the screen with watery eyes, even after the song had ended. I was taken back by the passion. I could not possibly explain how much I love this band, they're beautiful.
Say when
Say when
Say when
When the winter wind blows three times as cold as the frozen ice still's life until the bow breaks ❤
Probably the best vocals I've ever heard in my life. I love this song and I want to marry him😘
He's already married but we can all dream 😭😍
I know! I would marry any of them! no matter what age!

One of the most toughest song to sing in my opinion......and ISAAC SLADE is just beyond AWESOME, SUPERB singer !!!
His voice is so unique and stunning.
My absolute favorite song
"Maybe god can be on both sides of the gun; never understood why some of us never get it so good"...
The only statement that ever made religion any sort of relatable.
can't get tired of this
+Maria Bautista Alegria ikr
Hands down, one of my favorites they've ever done
The fray needs to come and make a new album. Go back to their piano roots from their first two albums
La voz de Isaac es perfección, nadie como el :-)
His voice is incredible
I nearly die every time i listen to this...how can it be so good...
:'(
I always imagine a young couple falling in love before he is shipped off to war.
it's so.. so... so.. perfect... i'm more in love

I don't think that I can really explain how much I love them. Their music touches me so deep. Isaac has the most beautiful voice ever and it sounds great live
His voice takes my breath away
The words, the feelings this song sends
The progression of each verse is just awesome.
This absolute acoustic and where the story ends piano version are the three greatest songs ever
They cannot be better!! They are already the best at what they do!!
My love for this band is indescribable.... I've been listening to them since I was 6 years old. Thank you for coming from Colorado. Please come back and play a show for my 16th birthday!!! :)
They're all so incredibly talented. God, thank you for creating these perfect people. ♥
I love this song so much.
The Fray
See you there
Don't know where you come from
Unaware the stare from someone
Don't appear to care that I saw you, and I want you too
What's your name? Because I have to know it
You let me in and begin to show it
We're terrified, because we're heading straight for it, might get it
Your favorite song plays on the background
All alone but you turn it up now
And everyone is rising to meet you, to greet you
Turn around and you're walking toward me
I'm breaking down and you're breathing slowly
Say the word and I will be your man, your man
Say when
And my own two hands will comfort you
Tonight, tonight
Say when
And my own two arms will carry you
Tonight, tonight
Come close and even closer
We bring it in, but we go no further
We separate two ghosts in one mirror, no mirror
Later on, if it turns to chaos
Hurricanes coming all around us
See the crack, pull it back
From the window, you stay low
Say when
And my own two hands will comfort you
Tonight, tonight
Say when
And my own two arms will carry you
Tonight, tonight
Come across, you're lost and broken
You're coming to, you're slow and waking
You start to shake
Still haven't spoken, what happened?
I'm coming back and you just don't know when
You want to cry but there's nothing coming
They're gonna push until you give in, say when
Now we're here and it turns to chaos
Hurricanes coming all around us
Another crack throws you back from the window
You stay low
All began with the man of country
Another plan sends another century
Around again another nation, fallen
Any guy can be on both sides of a coin
Never understood why
Some of us never get a shoulder, shoulder
Some of this we kept with us
All of us will go out there
'Cause it never stops until we give in, give in
To give in, give in
Say when
And my own two hands will comfort you
Tonight, tonight
Say when
And my own two arms will carry you
Tonight, tonight
Say when
And my own two hands will comfort you
Tonight, tonight.
They've been my favorite band from their first album. Everytime I hear them I fall in love a little more
I don't get how ANYONE can dislike this! :o

I love how Isaac doesn't have to add any thing to his voice to enhance it, just pure raw talent
I've been listening to this all day long. I love it, and I love The Fray! :')
Memories oh lord 🙏 he's a fantastic artist 🎨 ❤
Das ist besser als das originale Audio. Hier hat keiner die Emotionen in seiner Stimme an die Hintergrundmusik angepasst! 😊

Say when and my own two arms
Will carry you tonight, tonight

Will comfort you tonight, tonight
