She was 16 years, 4 months when she ran her 100m PB. She has always been one of my fav track athletes but debilitating and nagging injuries over the years have set things back for her. Glad to see her doing her thing in the right year and right time.
Shericka Jackson, Flo Jo, Inger Miller, Shaunae Miller-Uibo, & Allyson Felix have all run faster than this. Also, werk! This was impressive. What an exciting season for the sprints this year!
This is actually majority untrue. The only person to have run faster than 16.30 on the 150m STRAIGHT is Miller Uibo at 16.23. Felix ran 16.36. and Inger, Jackson and FloJo both ran it with a BEND not on a full straight. And Jacksons 16.03 was an en route split during a 200m race.
@@kennethcoleman1378 got it! I didn’t realize they were counting the 150m split within a 200m race but that makes sense (especially now that I’m realizing the 16.28s they have listed for Allyson Felix was the bend she ran at Osaka in 2007 WC). Thanks for the clarification/specificity. Also, that’s interesting that AF ran faster in an actual 200m vs. the 150m. I always felt like she was much faster than she was able to actualize. She struggled coming out of the blocks. 🙏🏿
@@proyouservicesltd3652 Technically Hill ran faster by the thousands but neither of them will get the actual record because Miller Uibo has it at 16.32. Instead they both broke or tied their respective national records.
Remember when they gave her the headline " fastest girl in the world" not hills fault.... Jamaica was winning everything so they cooked that up , and they are now trying again!
@@Yaadie_sports No it's not Jackson ran that with a bend not on a full straight and that 150 time was a recorded split en route in a 200m so it doesn't count. Regardless it still isnt a WR BECAUSE Miller Uibo HAS IT AT 16.23. It's still the second fastest time ever recorded on a full straight.
It's not a world record. Shaunae Miller-Uibo ran 16.23 in 2018 on the straight, and Shericka Jackson ran 16.09 on a bend in September 2023. 5 women have bested 16.30.
Weren’t those times done on the way to 200m though? If they were then they aren’t an official 150m WR. For example The fastest men’s 60m split is 6.29 on the way to 100m but it doesn’t count as a 60m WR cus it wasn’t a 60m race. The 60m WR is 6.34.
This great story is completely unexpected. Good for Hill. The entire meet was enjoyable.
No doubt about that…great year for track and field. 💪🏾
Glad to see her back.. shes still on 25 and ran her PB back at the age 17
Damn i forgot about that, so I guess we still haven’t seen her best yet. 😳

You know how pissed I'd be to lose the world record by 0.006 of a second.
That’s still tripping me out too. lol 😰
Ofili lost the race but not the World Best, she would go down in the record books as the joint World Best holder.
@@proyouservicesltd3652 but how? 😳
Hill didn't even make this edited video introduction. Guess they didn't expect her to be competitive..instead she sets a WR.
Nah! Wasn’t thinking of the situation like that tbh. 😢
HAPPY TO SEE CANDACE LOOKING AWESOME AND GETTING IT DONE FOR ATLANTA!
Truly deserved!! 🙌🏽
Oh wow, Hill finally won something.
Yeah it’s very competitive out there yk. Bless up to her. 💪🏾

Man they got them body's up
Definitely lol
Candace Hill and Favour Ofili set the World Best.
So the race was a tie? 🤔
@@Yaadie_sports Candace won the race, but the record is a tie and both would enter the record books.

lol let’s see how that plays out for them this time around.

Yeah that was a sneaky one too 😳

Wait, can you help me? Is it the wr or her pb.
Just a PB.
@@Yaadie_sports Thank you so much!!!

Where is Sha carry😢😢😢
I think she ran last week so she’s probably resting for upcoming meets.
Isn't the WR 16.09 secs by Shericka Jackson in 2023
Just checked and nah, Idk what the hell they was thinking announcing that this is a WR. 🤦🏽♂️
