There is a good reason why we all drive cars like this all over Europe... We don't have huge, wide roads everywhere, fuel is 50% more, regulations are crippling... but we like to drive our cars like we stole them. Long live the four pot, turbo, rear wheel drive.
ive been driving golfs and jettas and sciroccos since i got stationed in germany 26 years ago. my daily is a little vr6 golf that i built, and it's great! nippy little thing in traffic, good power and long fast highway pulls in "mexico" and since it was a 5 door that i swapped, i can easily haul my kids in the back when i need to. little euro trash cars are just EPIC!

There used to be a killer auto museum called World of Speed right off the I-5 freeway in Wilsonville that these guys would have loved. I think it permanently closed just before this episode, but they had a bunch of cool stuff, stock cars, lots of old vintage Top Fuel and Funny Cars, some rally stuff and quite a bit of land speed cars including Mickey Thompsons Challenger 1 right inside the front doorway. I was blown away as soon as I walked in seeing that car. Freiburger would have loved it. Sucks that it's gone.
You guys are mad total and pure mix of lunacy and motor head ..all three of you....decades of ludacrishness (if ever there is this word.."ludachrishness"..lol)..whatever and I knw you wouldn't mind after all you do with the improvisations to make the 'gears' running...just love you guys keep the contents coming guys never mind the new old anything but just keep it coming ...just literally hooked with the show and remnants of it from other youtubers that upload your contents...totally a junky craving to get a fix of them contents what so ever..😅😅

@@fishnhomeylod462 correct. it was in testing and final development towards the middle/end of 1945. a few were put into combat, but a P51 was awarded a kill on a jet messerschmitt, and AFAIK is the only prop plane to shoot down a jet plane. (TBF the rolls merlin in the little mustang was like stuffing an LS4 supercharged into a mx5 NA....)

I wonder how pissed off they were when they realize that’s a portion of our front end and with one socket and a ratchet they could’ve jacked the front end up a bit and dealt with that rubbing tire problem in about four minutes. My old Toyota was lowered and it would creep down and a buddy of mine got out and ran the front end up at a stoplight once

the 2.3 ford turbo setup that is in it can be tuned to the MOON! ive seen those making well over 300hp, and the problem is finding a transmission that bolts up that will handle that! that's the same engine from the "SVT" turbo fox body mustang. it's no slouch!
would be a really snug fit! that's a compact toyota frame, and an even MORE compact uk-style car body. the car is so small that the skinny tires on a compact toyota pickup are TOO WIDE.... find a v8 that fits in a datsun 210 without cutting the frame apart........

yeah these little 2.3Ts could really go like stink! ive seen non NOS versions well over 300hp just happy as a clam in a mud pit!

Timing is set by computer in the 2.3 ford of that era
