Just painted gray mist in my new home as the main color with simply white trim and it looks amazing in both north and south facing rooms. Was pleasantly surprised. Doesn’t throw blue, green, purple or yellow at all and pairs really well with white oak flooring. Looks great during daytime and evening light.
Amazing as always, James! It’s always a treat to see a new colour get broken down! Seeing the different names for the “rainy greys”, I think it’d be interesting to see palettes based off of different regions - so like how the colours in Key West look super different to the colours in Tofino and Copenhagen, and why that might be. (What I’m essentially saying is that you could do deep dive vids and I’d make popcorn and queue up lol) Cheers, bud, have a good one!
Considering a color similar to Gray Mist for our bedroom, BM Fog Mist. Would VERY much like to hear your thoughts on this color v. Gray Mist :) Thank you.
James. Great information and videos. Could you feature Benjamin Moore November Rain. I have decided this will be my hall and living room main colour but need some ideas for bedrooms off the hall way that’s south facing that would complement November Rain in a lighter shade. My floors are walnut using super white for trim. Any info would be much appreciated
I have decided on Whisper White for my all over house color. in the past i have used a swatch to coordinate darker colors for an accent but cannot find a "instore" swatch to guide me. I am looking for a good neutral color for my kitchen cabinets. Can you do a video for Whisper White and include some suggestions for neutral palate peeps? thx bunches.
So what are the warm Greys? I have a large living room facing West-North. Daytime had bright sunlight and has warm bright- old school lights. I don't like yellow toned since the house currently is yellow off white and leans toward older than modern. I can't decide between 1. Pale oak 2. Classic grey 3. Swiss Cofee 4. Chantilly lace 5. Grey mist
Classic Gray is a fave of mine, and a little lighter than Pale Oak. Grey Mist is slightly warmer and also quite nice. Your best bet is to compare them side by side.
Lovely choice! Revere Pewter has a higher LRV than most other neutrals, making it great for kitchens. So, it'll be nice and bright but with some earthy undertones.

I really want to use BM October Mist as a accent board and batten wall color in a bedroom but I am trying to find a coordinating color for the 3 other walls , would gray mist coordinate with October mist ?
Hi Erin, yes I do think they will coordinate! Gray mist can read warm but, in this case, I think the saturation of October Mist cancels that out. I think it would look great!
@@thepaintpeople thank you so much for the response! I have been doing so much research trying to find a neutral color to pair with October mist. I plan on getting samples this weekend . I appreciate it !
@@thepaintpeople could this work for a small bath with a south facing window in the shower/tub area? The current Behr Ivory turns PINK in sunlight! Other colors beyond white ceiling and trim are very dark coffee cabinet, dark bronze fixtures and black wire accessories, runner rug with medium teal and accents of rust & dark brown on muted cream and taupe background, some decorations with sea glass aqua. It all works until the afternoon pink happens!
I have watched so many of your videos. I subscribe and "like" all of them. Is the color in the background from your old place Plaster of Paris BM? If so, does it flash green at all? I have a home from 2000 with beige and need an updated, transitional color. Thank you!!!
@@thepaintpeople Thank you! Thank you! I am in love with Plaster of Paris and you are the only person reviewing the color! How would you say it compares to Gray Mist? PS got my Mighty Boards at the BM store in WA St!
Hey James! Have you ever looked at OC-19, Sea Pearl? After numerous Benjamin Moore samples we tried this one. And what made it perfect was when we got it home and on our wall with the paint sample it looked like what all the colors we tried first looked like in the store. We loved a few colors in the store but when we got home and put them on the walls they all looked too dark. This color wasn’t that pleasing on the swatch in the store but then under our lighting in the house was just what we were looking for. Thanks to your extensive knowledge of LRV we would have never found this color.
Hey! I’ve planned on gray mist as my exterior paint color for my brick home. I’ve had it picked out for two months. Our painter just let me know today he uses Sherwin-Williams. Do you know a color that is similar to this? I’m so bummed because I was so set on gray mist. Any feedback would be great thank you!
The description of LRV is inaccurate. LRV stands for Light Reflectance Value which describes on a scale of 0-100 how much light a color reflects and how much it absorbs, with 0 being the total absence of light or black and 100 being the most reflective white.

watching you is like watching my favorite sitcom. so entertaining! info is so useful!
Also I used classic gray and hale navy in my room and ugh I’m in love!

I agree with everyone. Hair is really nice. Love all the paint info too.
How does it compare to soft chamois?
I am considering the two. Wondering the same thing. I know that soft chamois has lrv 78.94 and gray mist is 73.96 and that’s about it 😂
You’re hair looks nice like this . I might actually do this for my house
Yes great haircut.
Why don't you like Chantilly lace? What is your favorite trim color for these like gray mist type of colors?
Hi
What would the benjamin moore paint color that would be a bit lighter and still warm...
Could gray mist walls work in a kitchen with revere pewter cabinets?

I have a lot of cherry wood cabinet ( not cherry color) and furnitures. what is your choice of wall color. My taste is mid-century modern.
thank you
Hey James- please give me some mid-tone suggestions for my bathroom!

I was hoping to find your comments on whisper grey by Dunn-Edwards? And your comparison with other light gray
You're right, overly hot coffee is just wrong. Gray Mist is a nice color. A really nice alternative to Classic Gray.

Can you review stone hearth? I believe you mentioned you used it on a kitchen cabinet..now I'm curious about its other uses.
Too cute 😊

@@LifeCanBeBeauty I know it's been awhile but how did Gray Mist and October Mist work together?
Could you please do a video on SW 9590 Taupe of the Morning? Thank you!
Hello
What color is a hair lighter than gray mist?
Thank you
Hmm, maybe take a look at White Down? It might read warmer but it does have that gray undertone.
Hi James! Could you do an episode of Fossil?
This color works well for south and north facing rooms?
I would say moreso south facing, but North facing would be fine too. It'll just feel a bit more gray.
