The ironic part is that most part of the movie is street dancing indoors and NOT on the streets.... It just doesn't make any sense
'street dance' now refers to a genre of dancing, doesn't have to be on the streets
Dance and music are so powerful, we tend to forget that. But it can break barriers and bring worlds together like no other

I actually really liked this movie, you get attached to the characters and the plot seems cheesy, but it's quite well done. Also, the dancing is spectacular. I would totally recommend this movie!

Amazing movie totally recommend it to anyone who has a passion for any type of dance. i absolutely loved it the first time i watched it, and still loved it the fifth time round :)

step up was out way before this movie , hents why the movies and storyline are like spot on, because they made a poorly done english version.
I know nothing of Street Dance or Ballet. Love all music though I lean more towards Rock and Metal. However. I love this film.

This movie isnt totally like Step up. Its sort of, but in this movie they put ballet and street dance together. I only wish that one day some genious moviemakers want to make a dancingmovie which isnt like all the others. I mean, each time its like: Girl is with one gang, but ends up with the other gang (who's always best) and then maybe there's a couple of boys too. I mean, its the same story! In Honey, in Step Up, in Street dance. Please, make a movie who's a bit different!

if there were black guys who were the best at ballet - they would get the leading role - man, we are not in the 60's no more - people won't care if you are white or black - as long as u r the best at what u do. (+ I can say that in my opinion it is te black people who are the best at hip pop - since they invented it, while white (Russian in particular) are the best at ballet)
and i hear what your saying.but when they try and give all of these white kids a life style,that let's be honest,most of them don't live,then it becomes lame.in the new dance movies,that's all you see.they can dance and they can be there,but hollywood should try a little bit harder to make it more realistic.that means putting more diversity in there.it's obvious that they try to hard.
lol i know right.after you got served,there was nothing BUT dance movies.and they all had were nothing but whites leading in them.i'm not saying that they can't or shouldn't be in there,but that was ALL that you saw/see.now(just like most movies) it's mostly whites and one or 2 blacks with that hot latin girl.if hollywood is going to make hard core,street life dance movies,then they should be more realistic but adding more blacks&latins. because in real life,that's HOW IT IS.
Spanish and a lot of hispanics are white (americans think they are not because of the large population of brown mexicans living in the us) For example 85% of Argentinians are white because they all have spanish and italian roots. You don't call Italian americans brown because they are tannend. Spaniards are also european and white but more tanned then northern europeans thats the difference
this beautiful main actress i think that ruins all the movie....it's like she's directing the movie.200 close ups that have nothing to do with the movie or dancing...the most parts when she's not in the scene the other really dance & even we've seen this tipe of movie before they're pretty good with what they're doing.....so little miss sunshine this movie was supose to be about dance not about how good u look with your hat on....you're a bad dancer and a worse actress...hope you read this
why it's always same? there is always same pattern, a girl - beautiful, a boy - so handsome! that's all right, but they have always same problems, different social groups, one is polite, goes to school and is well-mannered and another is rude and goes around the street and have trouble in home. how you can watch it all the time? it's only different visual effect. I understand it's only entertainmend, but don't you want something new?
film looks okay but to be fair the old " street and ballet" is just a big rip off from step up tbh and if you cant see that your stupid they have just done it the reverse way round so ballet is combined into street dance not the other way round like in step up and they just put in groups. But you cant opy somthing and make it better so will no way be better than step up and yea leave me same commments giving me abuse i dont care
K guys I'd u love to dance like me u wouldn't care what kind of movie it is I like both step up and street dance ok so don't get people down their both dance movies and their great so if u so into dance movies u wouldn't care which one to Watch as long as it's dance....and If u can't hang then just walk away...PEACE!! :)
thank you it needed to be said i love dance all forms of dance. people like crazyleggs are getting old someone needs to get it right before they die. Tap was the last tap movie that caught all the great tap dancers dacing before they died. sammy davis, sandman simms, gregory hinds just to name a few.

hip-hop coming from the hard life is the bronx, why is it white kids feel they know so much about hip-hop and they wont let a black not mixed race be a lead in ballet. No one has the balls to right this or put this on the screen i know black female and spanish / hispanic females who are great ballet dancers. this movies is just like the others. At least dancers are working

Cause' a lot of people go through random trailers on TH-cam without knowing what the movie is about. Also, this movie does seem like a slight rip off of Step Up with the ballet/hip hop routine. Besides, Step Up was a good movie and people have the freedom to express their opinions like you did.
you can watch it at this webste: 1channel.ch. there's a search bar top right. search the movie. Then once it's loaded scroll down. try find a link that sais putlocker. once putlocker has loader click continue as free user. and there you go.
The only reason I watched this is because George Sampson and Diversity were in it. I found most of the acting terrible though and if Diversity and George Sampson hadn't been in it, I wouldn't have even wasted my money going to see it to be honest,
okey you can only watch dance movies like this if your only watching it because of the dancing.. i mean story, ballet & hip hop, at least one time drama, then the big battle and if its a real cool movie one of the main characters is poor

the dancing is similar if not the same in both movies but Step Up gives you a feeling, emotion that Street Dance can't. and the music is quintrillion times better in all the Step Ups but particurlaly the original. nuff said
How come almost ALL the movies about urban dancing star some random white girl and boy who always have that black "friend" (aka sidekick) to back them up in the crew? I've only seen two that haven't. What is up with that?
Horrible plot, horrible actors, horrible dancers. Didn't represent hiphop or ballet at all. Lil Steph was bomb though but the main crew and last dance were so much worse than everyone else. Honestly, the movie was a joke.
@warriorofdawn in Step Up 1, the girl is the ballet dancer and the guy is the streetdancer... in Step Up 2, the guy is the ballet dancer and the girl is the streetdancer. This is more like Step Up 2, british version.
"That's just the way it is" ??? No it's not! Hip Hop and hip hop music were meant to be joyous, upbeat and fun. People who've made it "angry" are idiots. That is NOT what Hip Hop is about.
I'm from the UK but I can honestly say this movie is shit. Step up is definitely better if you are comparing them... rhey might tie if you are talking about step up 3 though. As that was also shit.
Its funny when Any other country copies an American film people go crazy calling them copycats but they seem to forget the copious amounts of films and tv shows that America copies every damn day

just finished watching this movie! LOVE it! for once the characters don't look brain dead and the girls don dance like sluts! the acting isn't great but heh, these are dancers, not actors...

@MrSteeveAustin Sorry, but if you didnt notice, this is a brittish movie. They always want a major contrast between two kind of things such as dance, origin and other stuff. Its almost racism.

way to rip of the entire concept of step up 1. I haven't seen this, but just looking at the trailer, looks like bad acting and bad moves compared.
I was jus thinking the same thing. Idk if you remember Center Stage. Zoe Saldana's character got the lead in the final performance (by mishap)....

well tis film is actually amazing! my sunday was sorted (yesterday) i love the music they dance to, i love the dances, and i love the story,,, i also especially love the cast (george sampson) anyway... :D yeah if you havent seen it you havent lived cos it is really good! really cant wait to see street dance 2 which has just come ot in cinema ;)
