It’s true that Indian people praise Cricket so much. But one thing to be noted what happened with Australian team at Australia after winning the world cup happens to all other sports players in India be it an Olympic gold medalist or our hockey team. It’s good that we give so much respect to cricket players but other sports players don’t deserve the ignorance that they get. I hope things will change for them as well in the coming future.

@@dahiyaC2 totally agree with ur point the only thing I want to mention is there should be at least some amount of recognition that other sports can get like currently you can see a boom in esports it’s not like people don’t have interest in anything other than cricket but the fact that people are not even aware of other sports or you can say that cricket can be played in streets or anywhere you want but other sports require a proper infrastructure which our country still lacks.

It's very easy to give gyan on internet.... Do you yourself go to air port to receive Olympic/asiad medalist, Hockey kabaddi, wrestling players..... I am not diehard fan of any sport... But it is because population of 140 Cr.. Khali baithe logo ki kami nahi hai aur cricket is time consuming game.. Aur Political leaders government bhi yahi chahti hai ki log es betuke sport ke piche timepass karti rahe saath saath ulajhi rahe IPL,Dream11,Rummy circles isme....kyonki unki taraf kisika dhyan na jaaye aur janata sawaal na poiche...

@@Rogermoore20082008 I am not giving gyaan here obviously I can be wrong just sharing my thoughts on this. I think recognising any player doesn’t mean that you only go and receive them on airports it’s more than that. Offering govt jobs to the players offering them positions as coach, giving them awards and all sorts of other things so that people are ware of their existence. Also calling a sport betuka is not good I think becz every sport has it’s own characteristics which are meant to be enjoyed and dragging government here and there is also not correct becz if any nation wants to grow then in 21st century then I think the focus should be in growing the ways of earning. My whole point was that other sports should be equally recognised being a nation of 140cr+ people we can use this in our advantage in other sports as well if which can become a source of entertainment, earnings and new opportunities.🇮🇳🇮🇳

How about next time you buy some flowers and go to airport.
Olympic Gold medalist Neeraj Chopra is also given utmost respect.
Sunil Chetri, I live in Kolkata, our all friends went to stadium to see his last match.
Every country there is one sport that has more popularity, it's very simple. Do something instead of giving gyan
