My granddaughter and I were watching this one together. She giggled when you said it would fly off your shelf. Then she said, "It did fly off her shelf, right to your house!" And I love it!
Hey Aubrey! Awesome kiln opening! Love your yarn bowls! A tip for your cookies - raise the centre and place your mug on the raised section You won't get glaze on your shelves or chip your mugs. If I haven't got enough cookies with raised centres, I'll use a small stilt to sit the mug on. Hope this makes it a bit easier on you and your shelves :)
Hi Aubrey, I found a video on how to make cookies, and they are a game changer. You build a quarter inch wall in the center of the cookie so it holds your piece up off the cookie but still catches drips. Even if you have to grind, it doesn't ruin the piece. Just look up: Sarah Walton Pottery cookies, to see how to make them. Loved all your pieces!
Hi Aubrey! First of all I want to say I absolutely love your work❤ I look forward to all of your kiln openings and am inspired every time! Thanks for sharing your work with us! I loved your combo with speckled plum and green tea. Can you tell me which glaze you applied first ?
@desertpotter1003 well I program my kiln to cone 6 with a 15 minute hold and it gets me the 5.5, my kiln has a cone offset of 1 somehow. So even when I bisque I program to cone 03 but get cone 04. So I would try adding a 5 to 10 minute hold if you get cone 5 already.

Yes, especially if you are glazing that close to the bottom. This body of work is gorgeous.
Your handle pulls and joins are superb!
Thank you! I use an extruded to make my handles, then I join them seamlessly lol. But yes I try to make them one with the cup 😊
Absolutely beautiful pots!! The pic and the botton yarn bowl are my favorite.
Thanks for the kiln opening and color information-I’m excited about your mural! 🎉☕️🍩
Me too! It’s a beast for sure lol. But it will be so cool when it’s done!

Oh I think I saw that one, but didn’t watch it. I definitely need to! I just bought two new shelves and don’t want to ruin them
Hey Aubrey, LOVE your new sgraffito designs. Beautiful blue mugs! Make sure you show us your mural when it's done! Happy New Year!

Thank you so much! It was 2 coats of speckled plum first, then 2 coats of green tea over.
Love love your stuff!
Thank you!
Do you use a clear coat over your black underglaze on your elephant mug?
Nope. Just the underglaze! 😊
One more question, how do you fire to cone 5.5 ? I usually fire to cone 5 do you just add a hold, if so how much of a hold?)

Thanks so much for answering back and so quickly. I appreciate all that you share, your work is great!
Hi Aubrey, what cone do you fire at?
Between 5 and 6, I generally get a 5.5
