Hi Ben, you've inspired me to go and wrap my dashboard panels. This weekend was the time to go for it. It was very exciting to remove the centre console and open up the dashboard. My car is my baby and I don't want to mess anything up. And I wanted to tell you that your videos gave me the confidence to go and try it, and they are real brilliant guides on how to approach this. Everything went excactly the way you showed! I'm really proud of the result. So I'd like to thank you so much for taking the time and effort to record, and show, how to do this!
Hey Ben thanks for providing the link for the Alcantara seller. I bought a roll of it and have spent a couple of hours this morning wrapping my front door armrests, rear seat armrests and the middle armrest. It looks fantastic and was so easy to use. Thanks for making the video.
Grateful thanks for your guidance in removing the panel - against a crazy "professional" time quote ( I daren't ask for a price quote!) even I accomplished successfully in maximum 10 minutes each to remove & replace.

Hi mate, I didn’t unfortunately but you just have to remove the two screws holding the speedometer in place and then once that’s removed the panel removes the same way as the passenger one
Looked a lot easier to work with than I’d thought. Looks classy. I’ve found that foaming carpet cleaner has been good for cleaning real alcantara but would be good to see what your detailing guy says.
Hello Ben,Do you think the selfadhesive alcantare will stick to my headliner ? I mean, there are different slopes where the sunvisors and interiorlights are,and of course the headliner is kind of fabric .
That’s a good question, I’m not really sure to be honest. I’ve seen people wrap the centre arm rest in the alcantara, granted, it’s not the same as the headliner but I’m sure it would work with the same principle.
Hey Ben,last week I got my complete headliner out and put the selfadhesive alcantare on. Unfortunatly it only stayed on a few days before it got loose. Today I took everything out and did it again,now with glue. I also did the a pilars and that stays on great,but off course that is plastic.
Look good brother but I was thinking of getting the mini yours Union Jack unlimited one does anyone know where I can buy one and if it’s actually possible to dat aftermarket I have a 2020 jcw 3 door

Beware of Alcantara copies, even from Italy. Alcantara can be used on dashboards, door tops and steering wheels where the heat loading and the UV rays from the sun are higher than the lower areas where the seats are. Alcantara has enhanced protection as standard to cater for the higher heat and UV that you get in those areas right by the windscreen and door glasses, competitor products do not. Fit a lower quality product and you will soon see what the heat and rays from the sun can do to your non Alcantara interior. In the auto industry, they sometimes use the copy material on the seats to save a few dollars, but they always use the genuine Alcantara on the dash, doors and wheel. Don't try and skimp using the quality material to save a few Dollars, you will regret it.
@@Bad_Design Just highlighting potential long term problems. Same issue with using standard automotive seating leather on instrument panels. A higher specification chrome free, pre shrunk leather that is more resistant to the higher heat and UV loading encountered under raked windscreens is generally used. A bit more expensive but it will not shrink and pull away from the substrate.

I went for 750mm x 750mm and had plenty to spare

I don’t have that one anymore as I have the sports display in its place. But the alcantara on the drivers side is fantastic! Highly recommend
