Thank you for the great video I really enjoyed it that was amazing tram seen the old one how old is the tram and what’s it like to drive in the rain with the tram please
The old tram that you saw was 106 years old (build in 1918). Driving in the rain is not that different from when it's not raining. But the moment it starts raining the tracks are the most slippery. The combination of dry tracks, wet tracks, dry wheels and wet wheels makes driving more challenging. The braking distance is bigger so we brake earlier but slower than usual. Our modern trams automatically use more sand to reduce slipping.
Still a smooth beautiful ride on a rainy day 😎, hey I noticed from ur previous night ride on lijn 2 I’ve seen tram 12 richting amsteldijk, is there construction at Amstel station??
Thank you! The bridge crossing the Amstel river (Berlagebrug) has to be re-reconstructed. Last year they laid new tracks at this bridge when it got renovated. At the end they found out the tracks did not fit. The bridge eventually reopened for other traffic but the tram tracks got removed until new tracks can be laid. Line 12 can't reach the Amstelstation and ends at the Amsteldijk stop. Line 12 goes back to Central Station using the Lekstraat depot to get to the temporary first stop Victorieplein. Between Amsteldijk and Victorieplein no passengers are allowed.
thanks for the ride!
Bedankt voor de nieuwe video. Zoals je kunt zien, zijn de bomen in Nederland ook al heel vroeg groen (maart).
Klopt. Al moet ik zeggen dat deze video alweer van eind maart is.
🚈 mooie video😊
