Hey I’m going to buy one too, the one I’m looking at is a 2016, and it’s going to be like 57k, such an elegant car, I don’t care about the speed or power tbh, it just looks incredible and makes you feel so good driving it yk yk
This beauty was ahead of its time. In an age where gasoline powered cars are dying and electric cars are on the rise, the i8 was the best of both worlds. Being a hybrid, it gave you the option, an option many would love today with most cars going full electric. If only BMW would revive production and give it the M series touch. So much potential really loved those vertical doors. ❤
It was also slow, plagued by issues, both reliability and performance wise.
@coolenick0 that can be said about most if not all cars. That falls on BMW, really not the car itself. Improvements could've been made upgrades could've been given. I won't argue it could've been much better. I would've loved if they had incorporated parts of the M series and the i8 to make an awesome car. Can you imagine a fusion of the best of the M4 Competition and I8 the sleek and futuristic look of the i8 with the frame and engine of the M4 Competition? Gotta keep the i8 doors tho no exception.

Electric cars are not the future
To get into an I8 gracefully, turn around and bend slightly as you slide in - bottom first. Then slide both legs over together into the car. There's nothing more awkward looking than putting a foot in first and having to bend your head and body diagonally so you don't hit the door. This is a high end sports car. Everyone is watching you. I had to practice when I bought my roadster.

Ik alotnof people hate the bmw i8 because of the discomfort and low speed and stuff but is one of the most beautiful cars out there and also the most futuristic looking car. If i have the money ill buy the i8 any time.
this car is quicker than 95% of the cars on the road still. You can't legally drive over 80 mph on most US highways so I can care less about racing someone else. Car is pure beauty regardless. I think bmw has plans to continue the series so when newer models drop engines will be even powerful.
I really like this car. Its just so cool looking. It would be a absolute dream with a f90 m5 engine

Such a sick car but under powered. Didn’t get the love they deserved under the hood. My srt Jeep just ate one of these for breakfast two days ago from a dig while commuting. Guy happily took the loss. I’m sure he’s considering selling it now. The quality is great but performance is ehh. Could you imagine if they put a v8 or even a turbo 6 in it? Would be nuts!!!
