Another great reaction! I got a few things for you which may help you understand things a little better.
1.) In the NHL when a team challenges a goal like you saw in this video, if the challenge is unsuccessful it results in a penalty. So in the instance you watched in this video, not only did the goal count, but because Boston challenged the goal and was unsuccessful, they also took a 2 minute penalty and went short handed.
2.) You are correct, the crease is the blue paint around the net. Theoretically, goaltender interference is when any opposing player touch the goaltender in the crease, and it effect the goalies ability to make a save or move. Goaltender interference can also be called if an opposing player pushes a player into the goalie inside of the blue crease as you saw in this video...but it was not called in this instance after the challenge. Goalie interference is one of the more inconsistent rules in hockey.
3.) A cross check is when you check someone using shaft of the stick between the two hands and forcefully check an opponent with your stick. This is theoretically illegal, but you only see it result in a penalty if you cross check to the back or the face...however technically crosschecking is not allowed. A legal check is either when your hand are together and you push someone, or your drive your shoulder through the opponent. And obviously you can not check someone in the head, that is illegal no matter what.
4.) Player can enter the NHL Draft when they are 18 years old. One of the superstar rookies in the NHL is 18, his name is Conor Bedard, I highly recommend watching his rookie season highlights from this season. Even though he is no Conor McDavid...no one is as good as McJesus, his play style is very similar and he is very fun to watch.
I'm a lifelong hockey fan, and I know that NHL officiating has always been like this. It's "consistently inconsistent," "reliably unreliable." The only explanation I can think of is that fixing would require admitting they've been wrong all these years.
Another problem with NHL officiating they will never admit to is that they don't enforce the rule book during the playoffs. It's called "putting the whistles away" or "letting the boys play." They seem to have this macho attitude that if they let the sport get any "softer," it will be ruined (the NHL used to be more violent). But not enforcing the rules makes it possible for mediocre players and teams to beat better ones. The NBA does everything it can to market their star players, while the NHL makes things more difficult for them. It makes no sense. How much more money could the NHL make if they simply enforce the rules, like every other sport?
per rule 69: "If a defending player has been pushed, shoved, or fouled by an attacking player so as to cause the defending player to come into contact with his own goalkeeper, such contact shall be deemed contact initiated by the attacking player for purposes of this rule, and if necessary a penalty assessed to the attacking player and if a goal is scored it would be disallowed." The goal shouldn't have been allowed whether or not Sway could have made the save. While I agree with most in saying the Panthers were the better team that game, the bruins ability to take the game were dampened by an extremely bad call.
Womp womp
Read 69.7 doofus, the rules change when there's a rebound
7:35 someone shoulda said that on the bench (Montgomery) because the funny thing is the panthers don't need any of these calls to beat the bruins.
The age used to be 19 years old, but I think in the 1979 draft they were allowed to start drafting 18 year olds
Nah bro you right about this at 6:25 😂 wtf is the nhl thinking that’s no goal imo he’s literally in the goalie
Hey, to the NHL's credit they were consistently bad at calling goaltender interference and gave the Bruins one back tonight.
I do find it sad that I'm just happy that if they're going to be bad, at least they're consistently bad lol... The NHL really needs to get it's shit together...
18 year old prodigy on chicago blackhawk’s
Game 6 MTL vs. TOR first goal shouldn’t have counted it was clearly goaltender interference but the refs rigged it and game the leafs a penalty for correctly challenging the goal
U join nhl at 18
Boston fan always like this if they dont win they blame the ref every single game
That's absolute fucking bullshit pal. You're talking out your ass and gaslighting. Get a life. 99% of people from all fanbases, even Bruins haters are agreeing with Boston about both the sucker punch on Marchand, and the goalie interference. All you have to do is a tiny bit of reading comment sections and expert opinions, and literally 99% of people agree that goal should have been disallowed. Furthermore, he should have been suspended for sucker punching Marchand. Plays exactly like this have destroyed entire careers, jackass. Not only did Bennet not get suspended for a sucker punch, he's the one who cross checked Coyle that gave them the tying goal. We just beat Florida 2-1 in the same kind of gameplay and situation. On top of this, Boston lost 3 games to Toronto, not one Bruins fan or player complained about refs, nor did they complain about refs when Florida beat them in game 2. Last year we lost 4 games to the Panthers and not one of us blamed the ref. We blamed our coach for playing an injured Ullmark for 3 games while leaving Swayman on the bench. The year before we lost to Carolina in game 7, and not one Bruins fan or player blamed ref's. The best thing you can do right now is STFU because you're going to embarrass yourself if you try to argue with me. Once again, get a life.
Not all of us
Lmao ofc we’re gonna blame the refs when it’s their fault 😂😂😂 and yk it is when the entire league is agreeing with us..
ITS NOT RIGGED also bruins fans mad cuz bad
It is.
@@johnjohnnston3498 yea ur just mad cuz panthers better also if our goals didn’t count and everything we still would’ve won all the games
😎👍🏻
Whenever a black guy makes a video on hockey, they should change the title to "American OVEREACTS to ....
This isn't a high school drama class dude. People can tell when you are being ingenuine.
Bro shut up 🤦♂️ negative as shit for no reason
You clearly don't understand hockey. It's pretty bad. You need to do a lot more listening and a lot less talking. You have no clue.
Lmao why are you so mad he literally has American noob in his title and is still learning
he’s obviously trying to learn you moron. that’s like calling a baby stupid for stumbling when they’re learning to walk. get the fuck outta here you buffoon
He's trying to actually react to the videos, not just watch it
And you do understand hockey? I understand why it’s hard for NHL to gain fans, it’s because of people like you.
You’re def a panthers fan who just found out abt their team this year
