As a life long gun collector, it pains me to watch someone who is inexperienced in gun handling abuse the guns laying them on the concrete, throwing the gun socks on dirty floor......The man who owned these guns was probably a true gentleman, hopefully his ghost doesnt haunt yall.
Not only that they don’t know much about them. You’re not the only gun nut bothered my friend 😂 it really bothered me they couldn’t find the cal on that Remington 700 it’s so easy to see 🤣
11:44 Sounds like you're saying 'flintnock', if you are the correct term is flintlock. And no, that's not a flintlock. That's a cap lock, also known as a percussion rifle, if it has rifling. The previous one appeared to be an in-line percussion rifle. It's kind of a modern hybrid black powder rifle that is breech loading as opposed to muzzle loading.
Yea we learned that after the matter this was recorded a month ago haha ive seen a lot of guns but there are a bunch i havent seen haha always learning!
You do know you could've contact the safe manufacturer and got combination and/or key for them. That way you have the contents and the expensive safes.
Hi guys, sorry if this question sounds dumb but I am an Aussie and we don’t do guns here. What do u do with them now? Do you sell them? Do you need a license to sell them? We would have to turn them in to police here in Australia
Something to think about for the future, I have the same model redhead safe(just with a different deer mural) and if you call Basspro/Redhead with the serial number which on my safe was on the back of the safe in a top corner, they had my combination in their system. They were able to confirm the combo I had. Pretty sure it was basspro/redhead. But, in the future it would be wise to call the manufacturer, explain the situation and as the new legal owner they may be able to provide you the dial combination. Now instead of having a useless safe, you have greater profits.
You already got a reminder about laying out the weapons on a pad or at least a couple of layers of blankets... The black powder rifles (both of the "50 cals" you found) do not need to be unloaded. They won't go off without a percussion cap on the nipple, and the Hawken-style rifle (percussion rifle, not a flintLOCK)... had a cloth cushion between the hammer and the nipple, just like any responsible black powder owner would store it. Based on how little experience you have with various types of weapons, it would be a good idea to find a mentor to teach you about the ones you found (perhaps?) You could do this off camera, or maybe do a series of instructional videos so your new fans can learn with you...? Idunno, but this is a great opportunity to learn a lot more than just how to put guns on the ground, or how to pronounce "Barrett..."
Putting the guns on the ground did not hurt the guns. We dropped this safe about a thousand times because of how heavy they are transporting them back to our area. The guns are fine. Yes I don't know about every gun and this was recorded a month ago and we finally educated ourselves about the guns we didn't know what they were.
I appreciate your not taking offense to the tone of my comment, which had to be short and to the point in this venue. I am replying in the same spirit, not to argue but to (hopefully) continue a discussion between two or three adults. I am very glad that you have taken the opportunity to learn about the gold mine of history and quality shootin' irons you have come upon, and I hope (personally) that you and your spouse (I don't know who I am replying to...) can keep them - at least some, if not all, to enjoy using for many years to come. Fair warning about black powder shooting, though: it's a blast (literally), and it's addictive! But my point - again, just in the spirit of discussion - is that if you watch videos of experienced gun owners, sellers, or hunters (for example) on TH-cam, you will never see one of them place any firearm (or sword, or even a bow) on bare concrete or rock. They should pad the surface before they lay down their pieces, and if you *ever* hear the weapon making grinding noises on the ground, that is the bluing on the barrel or butt stock, or the fittings, or the finish on the gunstock being scratched up. Those fine scratches are permanent without repair (which takes specific skills and knowledge to do correctly), and knowledgeable buyers will see them. The gun's value will decrease - maybe a little, maybe a lot - but the rules of keep the weapon over a padded surface and don't get fingerprints on the metal are important. Please trust me, and the other experienced gun handlers who are offering the same advice (if maybe in less words - sorry...) I am helping your algorithm, though!
No i understand about the padding and such. I would also say majority of the guns have wear so i would say the owner didnt take care of most of these guns as im sure you seen in the video there was rust on some etc. Also too its the internet haha i will never argue or take offense to any comment haha We are keeping all the guns for the most part there will be some we throw in at a local auction house though
First... great find congrats Second......shouldn't laid directly on the concrete Third..... SKS is absolutely NOTHING like an AR sks's are virtually undestructable and rarely have something break on them

Also seing that there was some paperwork for a Barrett is always a good sign I hope it's in the other safe.

There were no flintlocks in this video. They are "cap locks", they use percussion caps. Slightly more modern than flintlocks. Still cool none-the-less.
Damn I hope that guy doesn't try to find you that's a huge loss for him but good for you I agree about not putting them on the concrete floor need to put them on a blanket
He got a great haul there for sure heck in my state u would have to turn ever gun u find into the police because our new laws u cant be in possession of anyone’s firearm at all so guns would have to be turned in so they can be given back to the owner otherwise u would be arrested also can’t sell them either
Thats why the fli t lock had paper in breach thst cod still be loaded be careful use a camera that can be used to look in holes in wall like a small remote camera camers
@TheGeorgiaPicker what kind of bow and specs? Also muzzleloaders dont need an ffl or background check because they cant accept a cartridge. So no need to lose a % and make next to nothing on an auction. So if you want to pull it im interested. If not what auction? Online? What kind of optima is it?
