You are the best coach I have seen on the Internet. I have not seen anyone else bringing the unparalleled wisdom of Chinese table tennis to the audience in English. There is just no comparison of the level of China w.r.t table tennis. I do not think people realize how valuable this channel is. This is one of your best videos too
Thank you coach. I have been playing as hobby since I was young, but never been good at backhand topspin/loop etc. Probably because I never actually tried to learn it. Now I have knowledge about the different fundamental skills so I will try to practice and to understand table tennis better.
Summary For beginners there are basics as Coach has been saied; Forehand(drive, push, flick, attack). Bachand(topspin, push, Bandana flick, stawberry flick, loop). Serve(forehand long fast, pendulum, backhand). From my POV this Channel is the best ONE in tabe Tennis.... Thanks ever such alot Coach Emirath..
hey pingsunday Ive been playing tabke tennis for three years and I totally agree you have to focus on the fundamental skills for about 2 years although it took me a bit shorter about 1 and on the 12 month
Thank you for a very informative video. I donate a small amount each month to help EmRatThich continue these great lessons. I have learnt a lot - I don't have access to a coach where I live, so thanks again.
Thank you, as an interested beginner this is incredibly helpful. You have done excellently in clearly justifying each method and showing the essence of each technique.
@22:13 I noticed that ‘Xu Xin’ returns with a lot of topspin by using his legs to generate a 1/4 squat thrust up into his topspin (with the waist and racket slightly below the edge of the table for added control). He also shows that opponent’s return to his side, that there is a downward arc on the ball before bouncing on his side, so after it bounces, the path of the ball arcs up like a wave and that’s when you see him playing low to the table. He generates a lot of power and spin!
I find all your videos really helpful and they already improved my TT-skills. Most remarkable is Number 10 of basic skills: I personally also experienced that backhand serves can be done safer with a precise placement, although relatively predictable, spin wise. Seeing Ma Long doing that so consequently, at least in that match, also proves that pretty well.
Thank you very much for your informative video's! I am returning to table tennis after 20 years. I am now looking for a blade and rubber combination, as I am trying to learn the game all over again.
excellent tips. as someone who has also returned to the game after many years I really appreciate your clear explanations -and the video footage to back them up! thank you.
Thanks so much for your fantastic tutorials 👍👍😃 I started following your videos end last year after 47 years of not playing. I missed out so much of the ping pong joy 😢 But I’m catching up real fast. Trying to play every day to make up for lost time 😂😂 I am a tennis coach and knows the little details about coaching but I must say your videos are really top notch!!! Every time I revisit your videos, I find another hidden gem. If you happen to pass by Singapore, do drop me a note... Would love to buy you a beer or makan 😋😋 Till then, stay safe n more videos please 👍👍🤤 Blessings!!
Thank you a lot coach for this very very usefull video. I always love all of your videos and I really really learn a lot from your videos. After 1 years watching all of your videos, finally I can correct all my technics. I can beat all my hardest opponent at my club. Thank you dear coach from the bottom of my heart. I'm sorry for my poor english 🙏

Another excellent video, thankyou very much. You have helped develop my table tennis after 12 years not playing. I play with my old bat which is jo waldner rubber both sides on a waldner diablo blade anatomic handle. The quality of my shots have improved but i lack in consistency. I have recently bought joola rhyzm p for my back hand red but am still undecided what do get for my forehand. I am also considering changing my blade to something with flared handle, i want something with good feeling and was thinking to get a tibar stratus power wood, do you think that would work well? I play attacking style forehand dominant and used to compete at national level as a junior so am really enjoying playing again at 30. Thanks again.
I didn't realize I've been naturally doing the "strawberry flick" to receive short backspin/sidespin serves. I thought I was doing something wrong since I was doing it on instinct (I'm new so I figured everything I did naturally was "wrong") without realizing it's something that's actually taught now lol. I struggle a lot with pushes that I was told to do against serves, but I'm going to focus more on my stronger flicks instead against serves, including the standard banana flick.
hello Emrat excellent video thanks for all the tips, i have a question my thumb should contact the rubber? I contact him but I apply pressure to the handle, do you think it's okay?
On the backhand loop (around the 21:00 mark) you say he's using his lower body to generate the power for his backhand loop, but it doesn't look like that to me. Seems to me like it's more about balancing himself as he drives his arm forward, as the hips thrusting down and forward actually pull his upper body back rotating away from the table. To actually generate power like that he'd have to thrust his hips upwards with his upper body kept over his hips and not rolling back, which I guess would make it more of a backhand smash rather than a loop.
Great video bro...new vision created for emerging new generation coaches like me. Your video is enriched with valuable information and modern perceptions. salute from India.
Its quit difficult how Mr Ma Long Switches his thumb Position between FH and BH.. (Stretched out by BH an FH thumb on the angle on the blade) Perfect technique.. but if i havent such a Good antizipation like Ma Long.. what should i do with my thumb during the switches? Greetings
am I understanding correctly that what makes a semi-long ball serve is not where the ball will hit the table the first time, (in the drawing in the video all three lengths of ball; short, long and semi-long, seem to land in roughly the same spot near the centre of the opponent's half) but where it would bounce for the second time and a player should aim for the second bounce to be just beyond the edge of the table, is that what a semi-long is?
Please make videos on beginner coaching. Like a way or methodology in China, Japan etc. If it is possible try to compare it with European countries. Thanks.
Have your training partner block randomly to your forehand and backhand. You will be forced into the discomfort of switching between your forehand and backhand unexpectedly and will improve the more you do it. As a beginner your brain locks into forehand or backhand. You have to force your mind and body to respond to the change by actively practicing it.
My local amateur table tennis community didnt have any coach neither training drills, We just come and do sparring one other. I find their skills are gradually improving and im left behind with my bad habits. Its hard to find a coach in my city. Can i just train by watching online tutorial and practicing it while sparring? Or should I find a robot to train with?

tibar stratus power is a very good blade. I love it, because it's comfortable to maneuver on the table.

Most people have a thumb on the rubber. That's normal... But holding it too tight may mean you're tense which you should relax

Exactly. The semilong is that the second bounce will hit near the table edge. So it is very hard to attack the semi long ball
@@pingsunday thank you but how does a beginner even accomplish that, with spin, I take it?
