For some reason, I've notice Nicholas Pettas have fought against some many opponents that are much taller and bigger than he is. Is he just a small heavy weight fighter? But then again, Mike Tyson was only 5.11 . Nevertheless... much respect for Nicholas.
there's another film of this fight, where they show replays. It's even harder than you can tell from this view. Plus Aerts had his glove into the face of Pettas. So i doubt he saw anything coming.
@wei461101 I see you posted this a year ago, but I just read it now. Anyway, I know that Pettas was the last "gaijin" uchi deshi of Oyama, but I don't know about him being the first too (that is, the only one ever). I could be wrong, but I think Steve Arneil might have been the first "gaijin" uchi deshi in Kyokushin. He was the first to complete the 100-man kumite anyway. My teacher, Akira Masuda, was another.
Pettas is a class fighter but chooses the worst times to get sloppy, when hes winning or really competitive, like the famous broken nose fight with ignashov, he was winning that fight too until a moment of sloppyness. He's a better fighter than his record states
i must say that this isNicholas best performance ever (even if he lost)
2 great fighter, respect , technic , beautiful to watch
O Pettas lutou bem nessa luta, nunca tinha visto ele bem no K-1

Steve Arneil was first gaijin to complete 100 man. Judd Reid was the first gaijin to complete the 1000 day uchi deshi

Nic gave a good fight Bt he lost his focous when he get tired
how is this a fair fight aerts is huge seems 50 pounds heavier, or is it just an optical illusion?
The curse of the ~ 100 kg people in this sports... to heavy for the light heavyweight and too thin for the super heavyweight...
It was a 5 pound difference only
