When I see the Masters Keeps in the store, they are usually below msrp a little bit. I think I got my decades for $120, makes it easier to purchase than at a steep $175 price point. Gobble gobble 🦃
Super review of available ryes. Jason, your reviews are the most useful on the net. You're my second favorite whiskey reviewer. No one can touch the gold standard that is Ralfy for information and entertainment. But you are miles ahead of the silliness that is Rex and Daniel. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the very generous sample giveaway, brother! I’m a fellow drummer, and of course I love the juice, so I’m digging your channel. Cheers, bro. GOBBLE GOBBLE David
The price point is an interesting complexity an one has to consider age, and availability. So many lesser , Weller 12, whiskeys go for close to that on secondary. That being said, it sounds like a goal oriented whiskey to celebrate success, and great family outings. Great review. I would say the size of the pour you did, says how you really feel, rather you agree with the price. Gobble gobble
It is...If this was 150 I think its a buy. But at 175-180...200 with tax...just makes it tough with alot of great affordable ryes. I agree this is a goal whiskey or a celebration whiskey, If you're a rye fan...you will love this. But if your a casual rye drinker. There are other options without breaking the bank.
Thanks for your thoughts on this one. Was on the fence, but I don’t think you’ve pushed me to the point of picking it up. Sounds good, but that price point... so just have to sip on my stash of Michters BP 😃 cheers and gobble gobble
Great review bud! Just picked up a bottle today. I didn't enjoy paying $170 for it. I can't imagine that it's worth that kind of money and based on your review, it isn't! Haha oh well still gotta try it. Cheers!
gobble gobble Jason, i have a feeling this will be an impressive rye once that bottle opens up. I have the Russel's single barrel rye and that wasn't at its best until about 1 month opened. I still think I'll get this as soon as I see it.
The age is showing through more now. Believe me it's a fantastic rye. The finish is insane. I wish it was a bit more consistent on the front of the palate as well
Great review Jason! I think the Master's Keep Rye is a somewhat unique rye flavor profile. It is truly an enjoyable pour--but I do cringe at the price, IMO too big a 'jump in price' from previous Master's Keep releases.
Nice review. Not a big rye person so definitely going to look towards another option. I'm sad to say all of the other ryes you recommended aren't available near me other than the pikeville rye. Gobble Gobble!
I just wanted to say that you are my favorite whiskey reviewer. Your historical and product information is spot on and complete as I need. I do watch about 10 or more reviewers so you top all of them including Whiskey Vault. Thanks for your good work.
Thanks for the review. As far as the price it appears they might be targeting the Whistle Pig consumer who is willing to pay over $200 for 15year sourced without a fancy box. Gobble Gobble.
Gobble Gobble. I'm heading my nearest store now to scoop up the WT 101 Rye. Right now those are becoming harder to find. For the money would WT Decades be a better buy than the WT Cornerstone? One place I found still has both.
That's a hard question. I think it depends what you hold in higher regard? Bourbon or rye? Cornerstone is a rye drinkers dream. It's just delicious. But decades to me is also an amazing bourbon and very unique. If your going to drop that kind of money I would just ask myself what I hold in higher value or what I drink more often.
Great review, thanks for the feedback. I had a chance to grab one for $199 but passed. I'm the kind of casual rye guy like you mentioned. But I'm also a huge WT enthusiast, and have a couple of the other Masters Keeps on hand. Will definitely have to look for a pour at a bar sometime first. Gobble Gobble!
For me it was the revival. It was different and Delicious. The decades was a close 2nd. The new one though.....well you have to wait for my review. Lol
Hey man, happy to watch your review. I believe we had very different experiences with this bottle but sadly we could only shoot it some hours after opening the bottle. Ours comes out Monday! Cheers man, glad you got one of these bad boys!
Jason, thanks for another great review. You have really helped me to develop a better palette for Bourbon and a deeper appreciation for Wild Turkey. Gobble Gobble.
I picked up the Single Barrel Rye, underwhelming so far, tasting like a slightly better Bulleitt Rye. Fingers crossed, I’d love to try that Cornerstone. Gobble Gobble!
I saw the podcast you did with this. it seemed like you and RareBird101 enjoyed this more together than you did alone. But, that's the way whiskey goes. Gobble Gobble!
In regards to price of this, rye is more expensive compared to corn for bourbon just something to keep in mind. But love wild turkey and hope to see more wt rye product in the future with the guidance of Bruce. Gobble Gobble
This is both true and likely not the real reason. Rye costs more but not enough to explain the difference. MSRP and retail is not usually purely based on costs alone, they are pitching this as a collectible and there's a growing demand (or so they tell us). I feel that RR rye 6 is also a bit steep for me but I don't hold it against them. It is a great distillery and if they're profitable, even rich, there'll be plenty for all of us 😋
Thanks for the review. I’ve been on a rye kick lately. My favorites so far are Kentucky Owl 11 batch 2 and Michters 10 yo Rye. Close behind them is the Knob Cree 115 store pick recently had. Sadly I didn’t like the KC CS 2009 that everyone raves about. I’d love to try this one alongside the KO and the M10! Here’s to hoping I win. Gobble gobble!
The Mash and Drum I can’t find it here yet. I’m in north Mississippi. I did pick up 2 bottles of RR single barrel rye a few weeks ago and I love it. If Cornerstone is better than the RR single Barrel then I can’t wait. I have the other 3 Master Keeps so I have this one as well.
TH-cam unsubscribed me from your channel. Guess what, TH-cam? I'm persistent, and if I'm unsubscribing from anyone, it is Sean from the Bourbon Junkies. Oh...Gobble Gobble
Great review Jason! GOBBLE GOBBLE!
Just picked this up. Really loved it. A little pricy in Canada but I have to admit I throughly love it.
When I see the Masters Keeps in the store, they are usually below msrp a little bit. I think I got my decades for $120, makes it easier to purchase than at a steep $175 price point. Gobble gobble 🦃
If you see this at 125-150 is a buy. Cheers
As always, thanks for your honesty, Jason!
Anytime Aimee!
Great review!!!
Cheers from Oklahoma
I appreciate the honesty, as I know you love the WT 17 year bonded so it shows you’re not brand biased. Good job. 👍. Gobble, Gobble!
Thanks for the video! Gobble gobble!

WT101 RYE, best option for rye old fashioned
Yeah man. Love WT rye 101.
Gobble Gobble! Greetings from Sitges!
Great review!
I picked up a bottle. Gotta try it before I crack it open. Gobble Gobble

A little out of my price range, but a nice review. Thanks. Gobble Gobble

Gobble Gobble......Great review!
I just got the Cornerstone to finish out the set. I love it!!! Worth it!! I would like to purchase a coin Sir. "Mash and coin".
It's pretty delicious ain't it. That finish! Email me at jaycallori@gmail.com and i can get you a coin
Yeah Pikesville for me all day. $175 is a hundred bucks too much for me. Gobble Gobble bro 😁
gobble gobble. Good review!
I wpould like you to compare Jack Daniels single barrel proof vs wild turkey masters keep
What is the the sound a turkey makes.... gobble gobble .
Gobble gobble Great Review!
Great review Jason! I think the Master's Keep Rye is a somewhat unique rye flavor profile. It is truly an enjoyable pour--but I do cringe at the price, IMO too big a 'jump in price' from previous Master's Keep releases.
Agree it's very unique and has great flavors. The finish is fantastic. At 125-150 this would be a must buy
@@TheMashandDrum Totally agree! And YES that finish!
Jason I was really hopping for something amazing Wild Turkey rye maybe it will open up in few months. Gobble Gobble
Oh it's damn good. Believe me. Just not sure if it's 175-200 good. Finish is amazing
@@TheMashandDrum what about 155 with tax?
@@paulhuff00 I would buy it for 155.
No Gobble Gobble here, this seems to be a great bottling (never tried it yet I had to say), Cheers, Jason !

Another great review. Thanks!! Gobble, gobble!!
Russle's review sometime soon?? Gobble gobble
Sure!
Gobble gobble!
I loved your review as always!
Thanks for always keeping it real.
Gobble gobble, i must pick this one up.Thank you for the review.
Thanks for the review. As far as the price it appears they might be targeting the Whistle Pig consumer who is willing to pay over $200 for 15year sourced without a fancy box.
Gobble Gobble.
That could be but I would still buy this over any whistlepig if given the choice. Cheers! Thanks for watching!

Don't have any rye in my collection. Thanks for the suggestions. "Gobble Gobble!"

As always, thanks for the content. Gobble Gobble
Gobble, Gobble. Honest review especially about price. Thank you.
How does it compare to old forester rye? Gobble gobble
Totally different flavor profile. I would take this easily over the OF..but at only 23 bucks and 100 proof the OF is really a great value.
Jason, thanks for another great review. You have really helped me to develop a better palette for Bourbon and a deeper appreciation for Wild Turkey. Gobble Gobble.
Cheers Jonathan! So happy to hear that. There's so much to explore. Cheers and good luck to you and hope you win a sample!
Gobble gobble !!!!!!
I picked up the Single Barrel Rye, underwhelming so far, tasting like a slightly better Bulleitt Rye. Fingers crossed, I’d love to try that Cornerstone. Gobble Gobble!
Gobble Gobble Nice review Jason. Most reviewers would be too timid to give less than a rave review to a major manufacturer. You handled it well.
GOBBLE GOBBLE! Great video Jason! Love your channel. One of these days I'll get a glass and coin ordered.
Thanks so much! Let me know when you're ready!
Thanks for the honest review! I’ll be looking for a pour of this. Gobble Gobble!
Sounds good, but too expensive.
Great review! Gobble gobble. I always enjoy your content and was very excited to see you review this bottle.
There are multiple cases of this just sitting at my Kroger, $149. Two weeks straight they are all still there? 🤷🏼♂️
I saw the podcast you did with this. it seemed like you and RareBird101 enjoyed this more together than you did alone. But, that's the way whiskey goes. Gobble Gobble!
We did. But had to give it some time and really sit with it to see how it went. It's very good but 200 for this is a bit steep
Solid review as always! Gobble gobble.
Great review! Gobble gobble
I have seen Master's Keep at ridiculously high prices that have kept me from pulling the trigger... Gobble Gobble
In regards to price of this, rye is more expensive compared to corn for bourbon just something to keep in mind. But love wild turkey and hope to see more wt rye product in the future with the guidance of Bruce. Gobble Gobble

My Russell's Reserve single barrel bourbon has that same cherry cough syrup note. Gobble gobble, bitches.
I still have an unopened bottle of Decades. Would love to collect the MK set but the pricing is getting crazy. GOOBLE, GOOBLE. 🦃
