@@GothicPhantomZero It's sped up so it's very quick. but you can see that before the colour appears Arankay puts on some dark grey on the wing membrane layer to make it a gradient from dark grey to light grey. A lot of art programs have a tool called a gradient map, which allows you to map a spectrum of colours onto a greyscale gradient. Essentially you're telling the program "On the darkest grey have this purple, and then on a lighter bit have this blue, then green", and so on.
