Listen to that sound and watch the insane acceleration at 2:02 ... sounds damn good to my ears! These cars almost have F1 performance levels. OMG at 3:11 !!! TheMick26 not even close. f1 Silverstone pole 1.29.287 . 2015 silverstone lmp1 pole (2016 was wet) - 1.39.721 . thats a 10 second difference. plus the 2017 f1 cars because of new rules a 5 secs a lap faster than 2016 f1 cars and that the 2017 lmp1 cars are slower because of regs than the 2016lmp1 cars . these have nowhere near the performance of f1 cars . the 2016 f1 pole here at monza was also 10 sec faster than the fastest lap done in the 2017 wec prologue . more examples 2016 f1 pole at spa - 1.46.744 . 2016 lmp1 spa pole - 1.55.793 . . 2016 bahrain f1 pole . 1.29.493 . 2016 bahrain lmp1 pole - 1.39.207 . 2016 f1 china pole 1.35.402 . 2016 lmp1 china pole - 1.44.462 . 2016 cota f1 pole - .1.34.999 . lmp1 cota pole - 1.45.750 .2016 mexico f1 pole 1.18.704 lmp1mexico pole-1.25.069

god im so sick of the complaining from youtubers on every motorsport video boiling down to how a car sounds and just the overall abundance of simple whining and crying. Wake up people.... if you take a tiny segment of sound from ANY engine, it could literally be labeled as a "leaf blower" or an "appliance" or whatever else you have. its the overall experience and presence of a car that matters... and this car has A TON of that. Subconsciously, if we simply were played engine noises through headphones of random cars from the last 100 years, gauranteed most of us would not be able to identify them, and perhaps we even mistake certain cars despite them being perhaps our most beloved, or vice versa. For me, yes sound is a big factor in the cars character, but not the most important and by far not the most decisive....

I don't think so at all. Last year Porsche was very lucky to win a race. Toyota have been stoped by little, stupid, intake failrue. They did great race last year.
Unfortunately they can't do that during an official event because track would lose its homologation/safety. It would have been great but it's a thing they can only do when a private team rent a track for itself

i belive their all going in audis direction. using every once of exhausted energy to reuse it in some way. :/. at the same time sacrifice is loss of signature sounds, their shifting mechanisms have become so advanced and analog look at a lemans from the early 90's when they were still stick ratchet they still had a nice downshift burps in between...all those classic touches are goin further and further away. :(

The last years of WEC had plenty of competition among the teams and great battles. Todays motorsport isn´t even close to lacking in terms of competition.
A race car is not defined by the number of cylinders in the engine. If you had done some research before your statement you would've come to the conclusion that 4 cylinder engines has been used in race cars for over 100 years. Even in LMP cars, Formula 1, Indycars and so on. Please think twice before making such hasty and contradictory statements.
