    Worked like a charm!!! Thank you so much bro...you saved me from buying a new PS4.
    Mine was acting up so much, not starting up, shutting down in middle of game...I was about to buy a new one, but with the announcement of Google Stadia, I didn't want to invest so much.
    For the people asking about the washer size, I took out the screw and took it to the hardware shop. Bought 6 washers that fit the size. The shop didn't even charge me for those (that's India for you, I guess)
    I know it worked because my ps4 would beep and shut down Everytime after a cold boot and would come up only after the second cold boot. But ever since the washer fix, it boots up EVERYTIME.
    I am so happy, i can write a book about it, almost wrote a chapter here 😋

    GUYS IF THE WASHERS ARENT WORKING FOR YOU LIKE ME HERES A FIX! i ended up taking apart my ps4 to clean it and when I put it together it wasn't working n I searched it up n had this washers method show up or even buying a new battery. i was struggling until I did this : MAKE SURE all the screws are in the correct places, at the bottom of the ps4 there are ~4 screws with an arrow imprinted in the ps4 MAKE SURE to put the screws in the correct places. IF THIS DOES NOT WORK try this : when you remove the battery from your ps4 there should be 2 metal rods sticking up inside the ps4 where the battery was, they are very hard to miss. MAKE SURE that those 2 bars are SEPERATED, there are 2 slots in the battery for the 2 forks, sometimes they end up being too close together and end up going into the same input instead, put your finger in between them to make sure they separate and gently put in the battery. I HOPE THIS WORKS FOR YOU LIKE IT DID FOR ME!!

    got a ps4 from ebay to fix and sell, thought it was the psu, so took it out opened it up and the wire's on the transformer were bad and too short to repair, so bought a new psu turned it on and still the same problem, then I watched this last night after it was uploaded and knew I had some nylon washers, so I had to place three on each screw and IT WORKED !! then red light, so opened it up, fan not spinning, checked the fan connector and a wire was out, crimped the wire back into the connector and this ps4 lives again. thankyou for this video.

    • @Tronicsfix
      @Tronicsfix  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So glad it's still working.
      The reason it works is that it puts additional pressure on the APU and the joints between the APU and motherboard. This helps to restore the connections that were lost.

    Guys, if you cleaned your PS4 and have a problem getting the PS4 to turn on or it turns on then off, you may have put the power supply back in
    wrong. Make sure the two long metal pieces are straight and not bent to where it reaches the power brick. Not placing it back in correctly also
    may make it hard to put the other plastic back on and difficult to put the screws back in the PS4. Went through this myself. Hopes that's the case and you too can save your money.

    to the guy that said his fan is working harder you are right,this is releasing pressure from the press clamp and causes the thermal transfer to break down, so eventually all that do this will end up with having to have it reballed due to the increased heat.

You have to put the motherboard in the oven for 7 min at 210°C on an aluminum foil at mid height. well thats just dandy ! nice to see that Sony hasn't learned a thing after the yellow death issue of ps 3.. although , this video looks like a bad contact problem , reballing would be where the gpu overheats and compromise the solder joints . just applying new heatsink compound wont work, this happens when it shuts down mid game , not at start up.

    I left the PS4 running with a game playing. A person in our household sees it and proceeds to unplug the power cord from the outlet (without exiting anything or turning off the PS4). Now I tried turning on the PS4 but it doesn't respond, either through the controller or the power button.
    The power button literally doesn't do anything; and if the PS4 is plugged in, the controller light blinks twice or thrice then stops as if it has turned on the PS4 already. (but when the PS4 is unplugged, it only keeps blinking) When I press the eject button, it only beeped once.
    I've tried various solutions around the internet such as holding the power button, replugging both power cord and HDMI, trying another outlet and power cord, and tilting it different ways. I was able to manually eject the disc inside, which causes the eject button to beep 3 times now.
    I've seen people say that it could be a power supply issue, so I went ahead and bought one online since the warranty is void already. After replacing the power supply, nothing changed. Still the same symptoms.
    Anyone here who can help me fix the PS4 or at least give me an indication as to what the problem could be?

    Ok so I had some washers, used them, and now the power will stay on but the blue light never turns white. It just pulses blue. I've tried many different things to fix this and nothing works. It won't go into safe mode, nothing. Do I need to have it reballed? Any help here would be greatly appreciated. This started because my ps4 got smashed (don't ask) and the hdmi port needed to be replaced, as well as the power supply. I got a used power supply and had he hdmi port replaced and carefully reassembled everything (I had to get a new shell for the console as well). I go to plug it in, power it on and after 1-2 seconds it clicked off. So like I said I used the washers and it worked. But now the "blod". Again thanks in advance for any help

  • @MrTheSmokinman
    @MrTheSmokinman 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The PS4 I'm working on had the pulsing blue light that would stay on. It wouldn't go into safe mode and would just turn off after the 2nd beep. Swapped hard drives, still no safe mode. For whatever reason this method did the trick! This was after a extensive cleaning and new thermal paste but this washer trick worked. Luckily I had a few plastic washers from a PC build left to use.

    I have the newest PS4 pro and had it where the blue light came on then went off and had to plug it in again for it to do the same thing. I had put 2 washers in between the clamp and heatsink and works like a charm, how is that possible? Because mine was practically brand new and I had it sitting on my shelf unplugged for a year and made sure it didn't get dusty at all. So it may not always be a power supply issue?

      @Tronicsfix  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It just adds more pressure on the APU and will sometimes restore that connection. Changing the paste has nothing to do with this problem. That being said a lot of people think it does because when you change the paste you remove the clamp, then reinstall it when you're done...simply doing that will sometimes make it work.
