Many of those are considered impermissible for the music aspects as well as other aspects. Do the movies and theatre have uncovered women in them, men who are not dressed modestly like Islam teaches, are the men and women interacting pretending to have sex or be couples touching who are not married?
David MAY have been a musician (if that is from the Bible, it's not authentic to take from) but that does not mean music was not permissible to him during his time just like Adam's children could marry each other; something that was not permissible after that time. There is only One God and he perfected his religion, sending it's last iteration as Islam and in that legislation music is not acceptable as worship and it's very easy to see in our time why.
