Sir David Frost introduces a segment from "Aspects of Love" - the newest Andrew Lloyd Webber musical.
Michael Ball and Lisa Waddingham sings "The First Man You Remember", and then Michael finishes with "Love Changes Everything".
He is joined on stage by Lisa Waddingham, Rosemarie Ford, Paul Nicholas and David Essex, who sang other Andrew Lloyd Webber songs earlier in the show.

Right from the start it was obvious that young Michael was destined to become an incredible entertainer. His powerful and unique voice is incomparable. Handsome and charming are just two of his notable qualities. He also commands the stage whenever he performs. So this young man has developed his potential and has become a truly seasoned performer in the world of music.
To think this was just the beginning for a young man with a magnificent voice on his way to becoming a beloved living legend around the world..

Michael Ball has been entertains Royalty and millions around the world, since the 1980's -everything, Pops,Movies,Broadway, West End - the stage is his because of his interpretations, emotion, listen to his "the rose", amazing. He issimply the best - the original Marius in Les Mis, we choose him because he gives so much, thank you, Michael!

I agree with you. I was simply trying to figure out the gossip that surrounds this very talented man. His life is up to him and only him and the person he loves, regardless of sexuality. I asked about it as it seems to be a topic many who enjoy the theatre, talk about, so I asked. I have received the answer and am glad for it. Glad for him, for Ms. McGowan. Glad, more so, for us, who get to enjoy his performances and his voice. Is something the UK can be proud of, amongst many things in the UK.
If you already received your answer, why have you kept speaking about that "topic"? Gossip is not only terrible, it is awful!! Why don't you mind just your own business? Is your life so uninteresting that you have to search the lifes of others?

"The first man you remember" One of the most magic moments in the show...although it's not Alex who shares it with Jenny, but George - which would have benn Kevin Colson - celebrating the pride of a father realising his child is growing up to become a beatiful woman. And: The hyperactivity of the two follow spots in that scene here is ridiculous..on-off-on-off destroys the magic completely...the cameras would have coped with 2 spots overlapping....
Great to see how this was originally sounded with a female.

Michael Ball has the most amazing voice ever!
I saw this on Broadway in 1990, when it premiered. I loved it but it met with mixed reviews here. Does anyone know how it was received in London?
It got generally positive reviews in London and ran for about 3 years.
The rumours will probably never go away, but I chose to believe what Michael says himself. He lives with his girlfriend/partner Cathy McGowan (he usually refers to her as "my other half") (they've lived together since 1992) and he is the step grandfather of her grandchildren (and also their godfather).
The rumours will never go away as long as people like you and sarmadasco keep spreading them. Can't you just appreciate his art and his voice and mind your own business?

Why didn't the introducer mention who the lady was? He acted like she was not even in the performance :(
I really like the way she sang this song. I wish they had put her in more productions. She looked so fresh and joyful and innocent.

Michael Ball loks so young, here. Of course, he was young, here. Thinking how he looks here, and how I saw him when in London, in 'Hairspray', wow! I do have a somewhat childish question, as in the States, some say he is, some he's not, and his wiki page says he's a "companion of" (Francesca Annis?) but the majority says he's gay. I'm not trying to judge him as he's so talented, he is but am just curious, if someone knows. Gossip is terrible, so just looking t stop gossip, and find truth. Pax!
He was 27 years old here, he was born 1962. What is your business if "he is" or "he is not"? You are only spreading rumours to satisfy your insane curiosity!! Gossip is awful really. Do you appreciate his art and his voice or what he does in bed and with whom??

Not 'loks'....'looks'....young! I do apologize for the question I asked, but in the US, we're obsessed with people's sexuality, as are our cousins in the UK tho it doesn't decide if I am going to appreciate a person's talent, or not. Just something the Broadway community asks a lot. I'm gay so his being gay surely would not not adversely affect how I see him, is just, especially after Jodie Foster's 'epiphany', a question. Pity that people still feel compelled to hide it, but understandable.
Diana Morrison does not appear in this video. She is on the Original Cast recording, and played the part of the older Jenny through the whole London run of the show.

No reason to disbelieve him in this day and age (though so many do hide it for fear of what it'd do to their careers, sadly) It would be so productive to society, the bigger picture, to be 'out' but hard to see it all through glare and thinking of one's career. If I were 'someone' I surely would have trouble making the choice. If you'd be so kind, why did I think, Francesca Annis? Any reason? Also, why do I know who Cathy McGowan? Am an American & can't know everyone on both sides of pond. Pax!
