In the World of Gutey, he will probably do his usual 1st round "who the heck is that dude" swing and miss, then settle down and take TWO CB's, sign one in FA, take a couple late round tackles and try and turn them into guards, then at least one late WR. He has a pattern. Thanks Andy for all you do!
Signing Dalman would be the most Packers free agent signing possible. Relatively young 99th-percentile athlete starting at a position of need finding his way to Green Bay? This is Gutekunst's theme music.
It’s less of a loss than one would think. He’s been strictly a good cover corner for only like a qtr of the defensive snaps the last 4 years for a boatload of money.
We traded Douglas and been missing him ever since . If we cut Ja the Defensive will take a step back it’s the team job to try and win every year . No excuses!!!! Bring Ja back one more year and draft a number one CB. Our CBs suck. We don’t even have a number 2 CB we will get cooked all year next year if we don’t have Ja.
Proud of Andre Dillard for showing up and showing professionalism despite criticism. He's been a great guy since middle school. Hope he continues to put his head down and work.
Wrong. They need a 4-3 pass rusher and/or defensive lineman. We can’t allow the QB to have literally 7 seconds and expect the DBs to cover that long. If we got a top tier pass rusher that would make a huge difference. I think we need a pass rusher 1st then a center 2nd and then a DB sometime in the 3-5 round.
We should try to get huff from Philly. They signed him for huge and tried to make him an every down player and it's failed big time. Let's get him and use him as a pass rusher and save that pick for a cb or linemen
The draft is said to be strong at DT and CB. My FA favs are Dalton OC, Reed CB, and a starting WR, Higgins is probably too expensive, but Allen or Godwin are doable.
We may actually need to shed a couple more come 53 man roster time. Over the past 6 seasons packers have averaged 6.5 rookies to the 53 and never less than 5. I would say minimum 1 street free agent signing, likely 2. That gives me a floor of 6 new 53 man players with up to 9. Exciting offseason for sure!
Also for the love of god can we just get a good center. Should have had Creed, period. That was the consensus then, and it has born out. I would LOVE to hear an honest take from our FO on how on Earth they bungled that. But the solution to getting that wrong is not to double down on Myers. Let him go unless he'll take peanuts, and if he won't use a real draft pick on a top rated center. And don't get Gute Cute with it.
There was a time I would have agreed on Myers. But the game he was out against the lions they had Jenkins at center it isn't argueable that Jenkins is a better lineman, but there were SO MANY botched snaps in that game it made me see Myers in a different light. I don't think he's going anywhere
I definitely hope that Jaire Alexander and Josh Myers are out: injury-riddled & expensive and the one of the 3 worst centers in the NFL doesn't sound like something worth bringing back
@@williamjames648I mean take pff for what it’s worth but Meyers was like 38th out of 40th for qualifying centers, so 3rd worst isn’t not accurate, Andy’s grade probably echo the same. Jaire isn’t actually hated by the fan base as a whole, but people just see reality for what it is. He’s very expensive and since 2021 his ROI is quite bad. He’s been available less than half the snaps since then and people will say he’s great when he plays. This is true sometimes, it’s not like it’s every game, it’s probably closer to half of the time and he’s getting cooked more and more, and his run D and tackling are non existent. So this makes him a player who’s only good like 25% of the time in coverage over 4 years while being nearly the highest paid in the league. This isn’t hate, it just is what it is. He’s not worth it anymore. Add in his suspension, and his comments and it’s incredibly easy to see why we’re at this point.
The Packers need to solidly the line. Love in order to be an elite QB needs an elite offensive line. I don’t think he can play at a high level with an above average line. Drew Dalman (C) from Atlanta, Trey Smith (G) K.C. Get them both.
I would cheer for the Chiefs if they were likeable. But they're not. Mahomes is a whiner. The constant BS flags they get. And we're all sick of having them on repeat for a million dumb commercials.
Brandon M is resigned. After that, who the heck knows. Looking ahead at the draft, DT just screams rd 1. Meyers no way he comes back, I don't think you draft Morgan rd 1 and repeat that another year. Jaire, gone. Team probably does the blanket approach in the draft; take 2 corners, and sign a CB on a 2 year deal. I think the local Packers media, is alot higher on RB's Brook & Wilson than the rest of the league. 2025 draft is loaded at RB, team probably just has to draft one, at some point. Does MVS come back on a 1 year deal???? I think the WR position needs competition. Maybe trade back a few spots in RD 1, Take your DT, and pick up another pick for a WR.??? I just feel the pass rush is a higher priority in this defense vs. resigning Slayton
Not if he gets a very team friendly (cheap) deal and he comes back as the 7th or 8th lineman. But some team will probably pay him more than he's worth. Most likely Bears or Vikings.
@@jeffgreen8667that would be pointless to bring him back as a 7th or 8th linemen. Thats what vet minimum contracts and draft picks are for. Meyers isn’t good but he’s experienced enough to command 10 mil a year from someone in which case the packers would be foolish to go near that type of money.
I need Ballentine off the team so I can stop having a stroke thinking you are talking about Valentine when you are talking about Ballentine. Sitting here like “thought he was a rookie last year and why would you want him off the team at worse CB3/4”
1. If Chiefs 3 peat that is a major indictment on rest of NFL. This Chiefs team isn't some juggernaut no one talent wise can compete with. 2. Bring Mcmanus and TJ -- we can upgrade everywhere else. 3. waiting for deep insights that come out about Ja in coming weeks.
I don't think Myers should stay. Walker, Myers and Rhyan could all be upgraded, in pretty much that order. There was some talk earlier in the year that the Packers see Tom as a HOF center. The playoff game was not a great game for him. Maybe the Packers are better off reshuffling the line and putting him inside if they can find a replacement with more ideal physical traits for the position.
Jaires attitude shows he needs to be traded or cut but don't bring him back. The defense was better without him this year. Jaire IS WASHED!!! Jaire hasn't been a healthy or his ALL PRO version in YEARS.
@JoTrev1 lmao 🤣 the context of the situation??? Jaire declined an exit interview and said he's not saying anything about the organization cause he doesn't have anything good to say.. what more context do you need explained. He doesn't want to be here so trade him or cut him. And context still doesn't have anything to do with him missing more games than his played the last 3 seasons....... come on @JoTrev1

The Green Bay Packers have a glaring need at cornerback, especially if Jaire Alexander doesn’t stay on the team next season. With enough cap space available, Brian Gutekunst has plenty of flexibility to find another cornerback in free agency. Based on Brian Gutekunst’s track record, I can understand what type of players he would look for. Ideally, it has to be a young player, preferably entering his 2nd NFL contract. He has to be at least a decent athlete, with a proven record of good performance. Evaluating the options at cornerback, it’s hard to find someone who is a better fit than Paulson Adebo. Right now, the Green Bay Packers are projected to have $40 million in cap space. After procedural moves, the expectation is that they will have around $20 million to spend. Brian Gutekunst is happy with where the franchise is at after some tough financial seasons. Cornerback is a premium position, and usually top players don’t even hit the market. Paulson Adebo might bring some risk and some question marks, but he would be a solid option to address the most impactful need that the Green Bay Packers will have to answer in the 2025 offseason. He's been elite against the run the back half of the year. Hard to replace that. We could get him for cheap.
Just a reminder the Packers went 0-4 vs two teams that did not win a playoff game.
