Yes, I'm not alone! I got this song totally stuck in my after watching the video but by the day's end it was being unconsciously substituted by Brittany Spears' oops song. Several of the melody intervals are identical, in addition to the same chorus motif of descending bass notes contrasting the ascending melody overtop.
Which has been done since the birth of music... Passacaglia, canons, counterpoint... it's all been done before. However, Andrew Bird, unlike Britney Spears, a face marketed for money is actually original. He's so bloody talented.

I can hear the similarities, however, Andrew Bird actually has Talent where all Brit has is stage presence. And I'm sure she didn't write that song herself.
It uses a similar chord progression/melody, but by that meter "Oops" was a cover of Hotel California.

While this was better than anyone else could have done it, it was trash compared to his previous outings. Tiny Desk was 1000 times better than this. I felt like they were trying too hard to make it different.
