I lost 2 of these flies to steelhead recently! I just had to find a tutorial for this fly. Instructions are detailed, and fly looks very nice. I can't wait to try tying a few myself!
Hi, beautiful fly that could be ideal to use on the swing in our rivers during the run of wild Steelhead Rainbow Trout up the rivers from lake Taupo. However, and this is the big problem, is that I could loose a dozen flies on snags etc during a days fishing. For me it is a lot of time invested in such a complicated fly and I could tie twice as many rabbit hair or hairy woolly buggers for the same result. If I was fishing the drop-of of the river mouth from a boat I could benefit from using your example of such a beautiful fly! But then I am an old style angler and fish up the river either dry fly or nymph and down river wet fly on the swing. Cheers mate. Harera
Another great video. I'm still pretty new to tying, and I love working along with your videos, but I can't always find the materials in my local shops. If I'm going to shop online, I'd prefer to support you if possible. Any chance you could link products you use in the videos to the products in your online shop? Cheers.
Thank you for sharing. Could you replace the dear hair with a hackle for a similar result? How do you think that they would be? I really enjoy your channel. Thank you 🙏
Best fly tying videos on TH-cam!
Thanks Brett. Are they better than eggs Benedict?

This guy rivals Barry Ord Clarke in his skill but is easily the most easy to follow in terms of instruction.
Fantastic looking fly! I'll be tying this pattern! Thanks for sharing this tutorial video! Tight lines! Cheers!
I’ve had great success with such a fly,, nice tying 👍
I like this one! And I was the 100th person to like it so it seems I’m not alone!
Beautiful!
Very nice! Is this suitable for a spinning rod?

Does the deer hair right at the hook point affect hook ups? I saw other styles of this fly are shorter on the deer hair.
Another great video.

Can you do a lantern fly
What type of deer hair do you use
Usually muddler hair but deer body hair also works as long as it's not too hollow. Compardun hair is too fine and short and belly hair is too hollow.
I use this fly in tan and pink and dead drift it and the trout just inhale it.
