I used to caulk like that but I managed to find a way that works better for me and doesn’t require cleaning up afterwards. I know you mentioned not to run a finger down the caulking but I found that simply placing your finger at the top of the nozzle and then applying the caulk, forces the caulk into the gap and produces a very neat edge that doesn’t require tidying up. I find this a simple but effective way for great finishes and much faster than tidying/cleaning up afterwards (and you save some caulk too)
Binging your channel before my masterbath remodel. Gutting the 1991 bath with a jacuzzi tub and carpeted floors. I would not put backerbead in a joint that the joint is known not to have large voids behind the caulked area. Seems this will limit how much caulk can be applied. May be a good idea if area behind the joint is not known. Learning a lot. Thanks for presenting your knowledge in a manner that an engeer can understand.
Nice work, good tips. I start from the bottom, thus no spray is allowed near an area, which will need caulking applied yet, and there is no pooling or running towards it ahead of time while I am spraying directly on the silicone bead.
I just had a renovation and noticed all my corners are cracking. I suspect the contractor missed this step and seems like I might be tackling on the project if I dont get a response from them. Thank you for the instructions!
I used to make fun of cordless caulk guns and then I tried one. I'm not going to try to convince you. Just try one. I feel beting a good tile setter is a good caulker. For me I've found cutting the right size and angle on the tip of the tube is super important to what I'm trying to caulk
Really enjoy the "pro tip" pop ups. They add some nice depth to the videos. 👍
Glad you enjoy them!

Forgot to say. Great video by the way and thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Thanks!
I will use the recommendations when I tackle another shower tile project.
Thanks for watching Dean!

Carpet bathroom floors should be illegal 😂

Looks great. I love the Tub! where can I find it. Thanks
Thank you for your excellent insight and instruction
Thanks for the video and tips, Shannon. I was interested in the caulking tool. But your link to Amazon. Says is “not found “.
I had to laugh at the step stool on the board lol. Excellent work, my Kryptonite is caulking.

Update, don't get a Ryobi cordless caulk gun. They suck balls
@@64maxpower a good tile setter will never settle for ryobi to begin with
Is Mapesil T Plus a decent silicone to use for sealing up joints where there is a change in plane?
Can I ask what are those place holders in the tile called for the shower head
I sprayed mine with Windex and used my finger after I wet it, came out nice and smooth?
If there is tile shower floor and tile walls should that joint wall to floor be caulked?
Yes
God Bless Everyone 🙏
Shoulda watched this video BEFORE I tried to smooth out silicone with my finger... Oh well, just took an extra day to rip it all out and redo it.
I'm a magician.
I did not know this & i don't remember the $5.99 book i got from home depot telling me this either...
