I just put in the oven my fake donuts using your dough recipe. I used warm water and kept my dough in the bowl with a damp towel over it until I was ready to shape each donut. I also made 2 danishes and 2 cinnamon rolls. That dough makes a lot. It"s a cheaper way to go for what I'm using mine for. It was so much fun to work with. Thank you SO much for sharing your recipe and tips. 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💯 AWESOME!😄

Luv this 1 question: How would you make the custard for the donuts ?
for the jam I used... silicone and resin pigment. As for custard I would probably recommend a mixture of majority caulk and paint (shades of white to yellow) with a little mate modge podge!

How long does this dough hold up.?? Does it fade?? They look very nice
with proper care, this dough will last for many, many, many decades (probably your whole life). As far as I experienced, the dough does not fade!😁💗

Are they heavy? Can they be used as a mug/tumbler topper?
they are not light-weight but they also are not heavy so I would say they definitely can rest on the top of a cup!

My caulk keeps getting air bubbles when I mix frosting?
Maybe it's too stiff so you can try adding extra modge pogdge or paint to make a better texture without bubbles. Or you could be mixing it too fast so try to gently fold it, and once the calk mixture is done tap the container on a flat surface a couple time to release any remaining air bubbles! hope that helps!💗
They look great! Just a word to the wise…salt dough is extremely toxic to dogs so just be sure to keep far far away from them.

They look so real are they heacy I want to hang from my ceiling.
these are made out of clay so they might be too heavy to hang. but you can also probably make them with styrofoam so they will be lighter. at hobby lobby right now they have a styrofoam donut garland that you could re-decorate!!
